Hey fellow SOFTies,
I have made up my mind to leave LIME sometime early next year.
I love the job. I have learnt A LOT from it.
I love my colleagues. I love writing. I love having the opportunity to meet with so many humble and great international bands for interviews.
I love the salary too (woo hoo!)
but
most of all
I loved meeting and helping (as best as I can) the many respectable fellow local bands and musicians I have met along the way during the course of the job. I hope that I have managed to aid you in whatever way I could with some media exposure. I hope that some of my posts here in SOFT, though occasionally controversial, have been insightful for some. It's been truly, truly a joy doing my little part in helping some of you out in whatever small way I could when it comes to a wee bit of media exposure. I'm proud to say that I have never given a local album anything less than 4/5 stars in an album review! Sue me, I'm a biased lovelovelovelove-er.
But I have decided to go back full time into music and this time, we're gunning for the international market, and we will not give up until we put Singapore on the international map of music recognition. The place Wayne Thunder would have wanted our country's music to be.
But I know, in all practicality, it will be a long, long and hard road
Especially leaving behind the comforts of a nice salary and stable job
There will be moments of doubt
Moments of looking back.
But I can't fight it any longer.
It's calling me back.
And I won't give in to fear.
Still,
I would love some words of encouragement from fellow SOFTies here.
Just to keep me motivated.
Your words would mean a lot to me.
Without a B-plan, there is only one way to go.
Up.
Always think big guys.
Don't be discouraged by the population here.
We are but a speck in the globe! You guys can do it! I'm sure you can if you fight for it.
