Guitar Storage

Hey guys,

I just got my new baby today! * Rally GL-400 Lespaul. Whooo*

Ok I'm planning to keep the guitar in the padded bag as much as possible when I'm not playing cause I didn't do it for my first electric guitar and its rusting pretty bad!

Now I'm wondering, if I keep it in its padded bag.. Is it possible to lean it against the wall without worrying about any implications on the neck? I was told that leaning it against the wall with its strings facing the wall in the bag would be alright?

And would placing thirsty hippo sachets inside the bag reduce rust? ;)

i heard the same about strings against the wall....

but i wouldn't recomend thirsty hippo in the bag though. guitar need a certain humidity and i'm sure thirsty hippo absorbs all if not most of the moisture in the air...so i won't recomend.

But if some one else says so den yea cause i is noob ._.

Get a hardcase!easiest solution.Try your luck in the buy/sell section for one.I think someone selling for 75.

Better safe than sorry. What if someone accidentally hit the guitar and falls and one huge donkey @$$ ding appears. You'll never know.

Yes.
The myth is real.
You shouldn't lean your guitar against the wall for long hours.
I agree with dime. Get a hardcase if you want ultimate protection for your guitar. drop ONE hippo in you're good to go

You can do more to prevent rusting by wiping down after you play. That will tremendously maintain your guitar against all sorts of rust.

Well.. I currently just busted a whole load of cash on the guitar.. So I don't think I can afford a hard case.. I guess if it really comes down to it I'm actually gonna get a guitar stand. And place the guitar in the guitar case on the guitar stand.

Either that or I'll get a wall mount and mount my old guitar on the wall as a display and use the exsisting guitar stand for the guitar case. Sounds good?

I got a couple of unused wall mounts. But if you want new Davis sells for $10 if i remember correctly.

Its like having a broken leg wrapped in cast and you doing ridiculous stunts.Nothing happens.

Ok I've decided to get a wall mount instead. Though I'm looking for one that's able to be bent at an angle? And I guess I require a base mount for it to support as well. Cause I want to hang my guitar up on my wall slanting at an angle. * To make it cool as hell * ;p

Anyone knows where I can get this kinda mount?

There you go...

Lol. Yesss I saw your post. But I'm assuming your mount is the fixed one? Do you have the one I'm looking for? To be able to hang up your guitar on the wall at an angle with a base support for it.
