Guitar set up..help!

Hi bros, I have an electric guitar with a regular gibson style bridge that was set up by Beez to Drop D a few months back.

Now my band wants to cover some songs that are in drop C but I can't really do it cos my strings get really loose whenever I tune to drop C.

I understand that I have to adjust the truss rod to get the strings back in tension but I'm worried that I damage the neck or truss rod in the process cos I've never done this before. Does anyone have any advice on adjusting the truss rod?

Do I need to remove the strings first before adjusting the truss rod? And how will I know how much to turn the rod?

CHange to heavier gauge strings. Bring it to beez

or you can get another guitar & tune to drop C

I'm using .12-.54 now. Haha. And I'm saving up for a pedalboard and a couple more pedals. Is there any DIY alternative?

You're using gauge 12 and still loose?. I used to use 11s for Drop C tunings. Diy alternative for the setup or pedalboard?. I suggest you take it to Beez to have it set up.

DIY alternative for the setup. I brought it to beez once but I dont really wanna spend another 50 bucks just to settle a bit of fret buzz and flabby strings eh. . . The first time I brought it to beez, I made my money's worth because my guitar's setup was really bad. But now it's just a wee bit of buzz at the 2nd or 3rd fret area and flabby strings. If I could avoid paying I would because now I'm really short on cash

Alright bros, I just adjusted my truss rod with the instructions found in the links and it worked! My strings are less flabby and there's lesser fretbuzz. Thanks Mus!
