my mocking bird keep nose diving when sling, nose dive as in the headstock will point diagonalyl downwards almost to 45 degree.

any mocking bird ownerss here? is this normal?

i heard the arch top is like this too...

which are the gutiars that will stay 'balance' when sling XD

the neck heavier than the body. My Ibanez also like that. So when i play for quite long standing up, my wrists kinda hurts..

Hmm.

I did have that issue with my old guitar, which was a mockingbird. Ironically, I changed guitars.. only to get another neck-diving one.. the G-400.

But yes... a leather strap worked wonders for me. You guys really ought to check it out.

Hmm.

The simple, no-frills one can be bought at Ranking for $20. For those who dunno where ranking is.. it's 3rd level Bras Basah Complex.

wow how does the leather strap helps?

increases friction at point of contact between strap and shoulder to prevent guitar from nose diving?

Strats! LPs! Unless you don't walk around...my strat and LP still dives down if I move around, so...I use my hand to support it...easy!

hmz till date i've yet got any guitar that nose dive down.. i uses normal nylon straps... it could be ur body structure, i mean human body :D

no offence

air guitar = NO STRAPS!!!

haha! I always had the problem, but I relocated the strap button..oh well, gotta try sometimes..

yeah,a leather strap would prove useful....very useful to stop neck diving :D

Hmm.

Another safe practise to prevent your neck from swinging down and hitting the floor when you bend down to tweak amp / pedals is to hook your arm underneath the neck and let it cradle inside your elbow.

But bear in mind that switching of the strap button location to the tip of an SG might cause cracking in the wood. Might only.

i just hold my guitar, and use a normal nylon strap.

my bass doesn't have this problem either, its usually abt 30degrees facing upwards -> the headstock.

Very comfortable for me so no complaints.
