With that budget I really don't know if a floyd rose bridge is the best idea. I have an Ibanez Gio and I resorted to tightening my floating tremelo into the body to keep the tuning.

But I'd recommend something from Ibanez just because PG uses Ibby and I like Ibbies too. (:

Alternatively you could get LTD. There's some pretty nice LTDs with locking trems at Davis. There was a LTD superstrat, locking trem, H-H, neck thru going for about $400 a while back. Can't remember the model, though.

how do you know which floyd rose is shitty which is not.

and yes no guitar is made for metal. A warlock can be used to play blues.

Many metalheads use gibsons.

that means any guitar is ur pick in the market as long its within ur budget

Is this your first guitar?Plus max of $500 wont really get a good floyd along with the guitar.Maybe get a 2nd hand on the buy/sell section may get you a decent Ibanez that wont really give you much problems.

If you're okay without the floyd then a Les Paul would be a wise choice.Great sound for metal adding its versatility.

There're plenty of softies who tried many different brands of floyd/different guitars with different floyd rose. You can ask them which one is good/shitty.

OR

Do a search on some floyd rose guitar you are considering.

Revelt: Similar experience. I hardtailed my Ibanez Gio's tremolo and now it's awesome. Stays in tune perfectly. And the sustain's better too!

TS: I wouldn't recommend double-locking tremolos within this budget. Most of these budget tremolos are unstable. If you want a good tremolo, you might have to up your budget by quite a bit.

Haha. Good to know I'm not alone.

Testament: Trust us, friend. I had no idea what I was getting myself into at that time. Retuning your guitar every half an hour is not cool. Unless you're going for something of a higher range, floating trems or a floyd rose bridge is more of a bane than anything.

the LTDs have decent FRs even on the $400 range one, methinks. and i think i bought that superstrat ltd with fr that one of th softie mentioned sometime back.hehs.

I've narrowed down some choices for you. Unfortunately good floyds are not usually found in the budget range as you have mentioned. Do take a look at some of them. I mean like, sure, it will like burn some motherflipping hole in ya pocket, but its hole that's worth it (lol, lil' punt there..)...

You seemed confused between the guitars that are licensed by floyd rose and are originally floyd roses.

Ya. I'm very confused between a FR guitar and a licensed FR guitar. I only know that there are floyd rose guitars, floyd rose bridges and licensed floyd rose bridge. May I know what are guitars that are licensed by floyd rose?

I think I am very confused as I said "many different brands of floyd" without including the word "licensed".

:rolleyes::rolleyes:

correction - bridges that are licensed by floyd rose.

confusing enough? :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

btw thanks for the mocking. it really wants to make me laugh at the number of errs u've made over the previous threads.

:)

go dig up the previous threads you will know.

what pathein described in the salesman thread is totally perfect. no pt arguing with you.

That aside my point is you will not be able to differentiate a shitty floyd rose from a decent one at first testing unless you buy the guitar. reason being the guitar in the shop may not be set up properly thus making the floyd rose a disaster... other reasons + +
