guitar for metal?

I highly recommend Corts for that price range. I have a Cort X-11 with passive emgs and they are amazing for metal. The licensed floyd rose with locking tuners are very stable.

Only thing is the range of "pull" on the floyd rose, no steve vai style whammy here but it can pull off Paul Gilbert and Metallica with no problems. Action and feel is on par with the standard Ibanez RG range. It has a very fast neck thanks to the Modern 'U' shape 3pc maple neck.

Great value for money IMHO.

Is this your first guitar?Plus max of $500 wont really get a good floyd along with the guitar.Maybe get a 2nd hand on the buy/sell section may get you a decent Ibanez that wont really give you much problems.

If you're okay without the floyd then a Les Paul would be a wise choice.Great sound for metal adding its versatility.

what les paul?epiphone or gibson?
