Green Day-inspired Punk Rocker wants to ROCK!

Cables and picks do. A decent cable can cost you about 20 bucks depending on the length. Considering the fact that you're going to be playing at home, i doubt you'd want something that's going to get tangled up in knots and breed spiders.

For picks, i use .73 or .88. I took a really long time to find a pick that i really liked. I remember having more than 50 different picks made from different materials and thinkness. Experiment and find one that you like.

dude my cables cost $8 ONLY HAHA!

to you, and other non tone purists, tone degradation is definitely not an issue, u guys probably cant hear the difference between that 8bucks cable and a 100plus evidence audio cable.

so what u should be looking out for is reliability.

and hahah... before anyone asks, dont believe what planet waves say abt lifetime warranty. they suck!! hahah i know so many ppl, myself, my brother, and lots of others who have their planet wave cables shit out on them.

omg. i thought i was the only one whose planet waves cables keep getting spoilt. each time i have to cut it shorter to repair it, in the end i just threw it away lol

ASSEMBLED. and made are different. If I'm not wrong its canare cable with amphenol plugs...

and for the record, bryan, thats a dudette you're talking to.

gave up on planetwaves last last year. haha. I'm now using my own klotz lagrange that I rolled. Moving up to evidence Lyric HG soon.

pickwise, I have.... dang. who nows. hundreds of them I'm guessing. All over the place. pencilcase/drawers/pants pockets/bags/wallets. I've settled on the niteglo V picks(essential on stage!) or the medium pointeds that i use when im playing more lead. If I'm alternating between both, I'll use a dava control pick. Awesome stuff.

www.letmegooglethatforyou.com answers alot of questions. It really isnt that hard to google, that just makes it easier.

haha i use the same picks as you james, but when i use them, my picking hand gets tired faster, compared to other picks, do you face the same problem or is it just me?

the funny thing is that i can play long long with normal picks, but with a v pick fatigue comes damn fast man! haha

Lol,okay, this might be a really old thread...but just to add my 2cents:

I'd recommend a Squier Standard Strat, maybe the one from Swee Lee,but change the pickups for let's say...a Duncan JB?Amps, well, just get a Roland 30x,or 20x.And then after that, like what everyone else said in the first few pages of this thread, get the band EQ and settings and stuff from the Internet.
