Green Day-inspired Punk Rocker wants to ROCK!

Oh...so both the amp AND the pedal gives the distortion?Hmm,any good amps/pedals to recommend? And a punk-rock-worthy guitar along with?To make it clear,I'm going to be playing PUNK ROCK only after I do start taking lessons,so if you guys think you can recommend me a guitar that'll be quite expansive but will last with my music,do go ahead. That aside, regarding guitar picks, any particular kind of picks I should get?Or is it standard???
(Note: It seems alot of people here on S.O.F.T own at least one Epi.Are Epis really that good?)

Epis are affordable, thats why people have them..
The amp can provide distortion, but if you want a higher quality distortion, use a pedal..
for amp, i'd recommend the line 6 spider 15watt... i have it and its quite good. Considering there are 6 effects also.... for pedal, like i said, get the Boss DS-1 or the modtone speedbox distortion XL. both gr8 pedals in my opinion. As for picks, well its up to you. Diff players use different thickness...and by punk rock do u also mean blink182 etc?

huh? .... Im saying, that cheap amp distortion usually sucks ... thats why you should use a distortion pedal???

if you're not sure about what you're talking about, do not give advice.
i did not intend any malice, and you are overeacting just when i clarify something which you said wrongly?
