govt finally recognises local music

..

i dont see a need to tap on govt resources to boost the scene.

it may be useful in some ways, but ultimately growth will depend on the bands themselves. if can diy their material, organise their own gigs, raise their own funds and market their band, all the more experience will be upon themselves.

ronin is a good example of that.

.

I think if we all know how govt agencies work with social projects, or even commercial ones is that funding is only a fraction of cost, and the ultimate outcome should always be self sustaining.

there wont be such a station, thanks for the conspiracy theories and whatever explanations

happy april fools.
halo, this is too much.
anyway, I did check out Mediacorp web site and I found out there isn't such news, that's why I just read the postings.

somehow I'd like to say "dude that's not cool at all" but i guess it is haha cos the way you made that sound somehow convincing. so yeah. gd one.

if they ever create a radio station with government.. i think ONLY sofites (count me out) and some "underground" people will care.

and doubt the channel can survive for 2 weeks... playing local music alone.

sorry, if it sound negative. my personol opinion tho'

i think they actually gotta take in whole poop load of recordings to start this station cos imagine a fulltime local fm only has like what. 100 local songs the most to play? divide each song average 5 minutes.. hmm.. looks likely not gonna last.. i think the money's better off investing in a nice place for gig-organising. low rent and no genre limit.so more DIY organisers get their stuff goin for bands who need exposure. well, we'll see how.
