they probably realised that if a band needed to beg for gigs online, they probably aren't good enough to play yet
Sorry if I seemed insensitive! But we really need to stop spoonfeeding people, for the sake of everybody.
Everybody, from the bands to the organizers, needs to do their homework if we want the scene to become a better place. Putting random bands on stage for the sake of it is not a good idea.
Cheers
If the bands suck, it'll hurt ALOT. One bad band can spoil a gig, and potentially turn alot of would-be-supporters off.
You know what happened? We flamed  them to their inevitable deaths because we thought that paying to play was a bad concept. I'm part of the we btw, and imo, cash should be the last thing bands directly chip in to make a gig happen. Bands should help organisers promote the event online / here/ myspace / friendster/ youtube / poster / word of mouth, bring in the crowd / friends / fans / random dude, settle the venue / stage equipment rental, sell tickets cause they want to (not sell a fixed amount of tickets and cover the damn cost of any unsold tickets).last time wen organizers wan to find band for their gig they post it here..but nowadays..u dun see any gig threads anymore...wad happen????i only see they advertise thier gigs....
my metal, well, I'll just say I'm thankful that I'm moving out in a couple of years.
agreed... Whats the point of playing to a bunch of your friends, who you know will be there for you, when you're onstage, cheering you on like as if you're the rockstar for the night? Thats all bullshit man.
The strangest experience is what's dangerous and exciting.
The familiar is a boring and thin pretence.
woah nice one bro....i join you on the road la....heh
