hey im planning to get a new guitar in the next few months. Major Budget plan right now so can you guys recommend me a Gibson? I have a budget is around 2k possibly 2.5k. Please post the estimate price as well. If oyu dont recommend gibson then what do you think is betteR?

fender! imo i think the QC of gibson is dropping and the price is darn high...

or maybe consider an ibanez?

If you're a die-hard fan who swears by the tone of a set-necked mahogany singlecut guitar, you'll do well to check out ESP's Eclipse models. Roughly at about 2200 per piece at Davis. They can come stock with Seymour Duncan pickups or EMGs. And their quality is pretty darned high too.
Besides, a 2k+ budget can only bring you a LP Studio if you're aiming for one.
However, if you're going for a SG, I say go all the way man! :D

if you are after a Les Paul & do not mind a copy, check out Tokai's LS-75. you'd have spare change for a decent amp after that.

read about the LS-75: http://www.soft.com.sg/new/modules.php?name=MReviews&op=show&rid=32

actually if you want a gibson tone, you should stay clear of ESP's eclipses. They only look similar and thats about where the similarity ends. Its a totally different animal comapred to the Gibson LP.

If i were you, i'd get a 2nd hand gibson LP.

Gibson makes good 2nd hand equipments, not 1st hand :)

the high-end Eclipse models which do not sport the EMG pickups, do have a fair degree of LP resonance inherently.

the neck and body is much thinner, the latter even with a belly contour. Compared to an original Gibson les paul, it kinda loses out on a bit of chunk soundwise.

but thats just me :)

buy original, just hold on to the cash, wait for a good deal to pop by, you might wanna pop by guitar77 now and then for a good deal... but remember to ASK... cause sometimes they keep the good deals in the studio... the people there are really friendly, so feel free to ask...

if you get an SG now, it'll be 2600 from davis, but trust me, wait for sweelee year end sale, half price again? i hope so... then with the remainder, you could get yourself a decent amplifier... a studios probably 2kplus...(i guess)

I highly doubt that those sales will have any decent Gibson SGs like the standard, 61 RI or Supreme. And btw, Davis came in with a new shipment of SGs? I haven't seen any Gibby restock since I last snap the 61 RI.

buy the guitar from an online shop(one that doesnt ship outside of US), have them send the guitar to Vpost USA, and Vpost USA will ship to singapore. :)

its a bit of hassle but if you want a guitar from the US, but the company wont export out, i guess thats what you can do
