Gibson ES335

No I am not bazillionaire, my bet is if I don't like it at least I can sell it away easily nad hofully not lose too much..If I can other copy or replicas, it would be hard to sell it away next time..

ok, i get it now. you're a bazillionaire who wants to spend a few thousand dollars to buy an es335, to learn to play one song: autumn leaves.

and here i was thinking that i'm a music lover :P

Assuming that anyone would want to buy it in the first place. And the TS is confirmed to be bloody loaded. He'd rather lose a thousand bucks than three hundred.

just a simple illustration:

say you get a new es335 for $4000 (not sure what's the local price). you will be able to sell it for $3200 at best.

$800 loss.

why not just buy a $1000+/- guitar and keep it for the long term?

Yep, around 4k iirc, can always ask Brendon for a quote.
It'll move for in and around 3k, depending on condition and of course, how fast TS wants it to move. Big ticket items can take months or even a year to move...
That translates to a 1k+/- loss.
Compare to a Rally Neosound (400 plus case), RS Guitarworks electronics overhaul (300 max), boutique pups (300 plus installation).
And if after that you don't want it, give it to an orphanage or smth, don't even have to bother selling. Both ways you lose 1k.

true true not everyone is able to afford a 335, and becasue of that how sure you know your going to clinch a deal? your buyer may low ball you for 2000. Your buyer might just joke with you, ask you to travel to city hall and last minute decline. You may have to wait half a year or so trying to find a buyer... Isnt it better with a heavily modded hollow body you can clear at 700-800?

so anyways.. your money your guitar, we have already stated more than our 2 cents worth of advice, you wan't to listen or not is up to you.

Rather than paying premium at SL for a 335, (I'm not going to question your purchasing ethics, a consumer is a consumer and all that matters is the satisfaction one obtains from his purchase) I would rather look at The Heritage offerings for a 335 based guitar.
The Heritage is actually ex-Gibson when Gibson shifted out but the workers remained with the machinery (it was their hometown and their families were there). So for a bit lesser than a 335, you get a as good as vintage Gibson (made by the SAME ex-workers, using the SAME machines used back then).

Since you're not looking at budget offerings I won't recommened Rally/Tokai/whatever.
