i'm really glad that Squier has gone one-up by offering some of its 2005 models in mahagony, & my personal fav has to be this dual humbucking, satin finished model. thank you Squier...

i read the original dragon single cutaway was made for mark tremonti..
there was only one made for him!!
anyway this thing is gorgeous!!!
just simply BEAUTIFUL!!!

jimmy page won't even wanna hold it heh...looks great if u have a condo with lotsa chinese / japanese antiques.

The squire looks 10x better grade than my yamaha pac....not sure if can last time my whole guitar journey.

the situation with Squier today is that it get tagged as 'LOUSY' by players who bought one years ago. this is the Nth time i'm saying this- Squier since Y2K has improved loads.

the Squier you see depicted above has Duncan designed humbuckers, won't sound fantastic but would surely sound better than stock Squier models. expect it to list about the $600 mark...

That's a little steep for a Squier, considering one could get a mexican/jap Fender for just a little more.

Yeah but in singapore a squier at swee lee can cost way up to 560 bucks .... And in US can mexican fender for like 595 singapore .... Go figure ...

the 2004 edition Squier strats go for less than $500 here (certain models). it's all about the appointments (hardware/ electronics/ body wood...etc).

you've heard of Dimarzio-IBZ pickups, this year sees the debut of Duncan-IBZ pickups- well done Ibanez!! pictured here with the SZ320 in gold finish...

The duncan-ibanez pickup sounds like an interesting prospect =) I always believed duncan's sound better on ibanez's and they're finally doing it heh.

i was informed that there 2 current manifestations, both the Jap Prestige models & Korean units are using them. *drool*

FINALLY!

was never a fan of santana or tremonti, but this.. I'm a GC fan hahaha looking forward to c it at davis

the SE gets countless signatures which IMO ruins its reputation somewhat. after trying the SE Soapbar singlecut last year, i sincerely believe that the guitar is a truly superb unit in its own right. thusfar, only the soapbar & the EG are devoid of an endorser's markings, i hope PRS offers more SEs in time to come...

the lightweight LP is kinda passe because in 1991, there was a light-weight, shred-worthy LP called the LP Studio Lite. it featured a slim tapered neck & chambered body filled with an artificial material known as Chromyte to give better resonance. the high output, uncovered 500T & 496R humbuckers were also included in the sensible package. IMO, for any LP to be shred worthy, the single cutaway has to be deeper- the current design has been hindering upper fret access since day one... anyway, it's good to read the acknowledgement that satin finished necks induces shredding. i've been shredding my satin finished SG since i bought it, because i embrace the 'satin finish = shred material' philosophy since its debut... the Epi LP Ultra is neverheless a good offering.

the SZ is now offered as a Gio model as well (GSZ). i think it's the best Gio guitar that Ibanez has to offer thusfar...

kinda agree to that, a friend of mine has the SE Santana model, i love the sounds and tones it produces and also the inlays, would have bought it for sure if NOT for the Santana name on it sighzzz

if you've ever wanted to own an Ibanez baritone but you don't fancy the signature Mike Mushock model, 2005 offers the AXXL which should list lesser than the aforementioned guitar. it's also an inch shorter (27") & should appeal to well, some of us...
