G3 live in denver

haha, Yngwie brought a bit of the world of metal into g3.. And he rocked the stage.. Loved the Denver performance.. I felt Tony MacAlpine just really burned Steve Vai on the "guitar battle" thing they had going on.. I know it was all in good fun.. But if I were Steve.. I'd be a little embarassed  .. Tony's a powerful guitarist in his own right tho..

its not about who burns who, its about two good musicians playing good stuff for an audience. :)

Yeap.... IMO Vai has the "out there" feel while Tony was just shredding some notes. ;)

Tony plays Keys too. I think he did pretty well with that. Vai's band really was creative.

tony is a phenom...anyone watched Planet X or Ring of Fire? those are his other 2 bands.....u get to see him in other facets of his guitar/keyboard wizardry. I wished they would invite back all the guys who guested on G3 and make a big single performance....guys like Kenny Wayne Sheperd who have grown up and Eric Johnson.....also new additions like Andy Timmons etc.....

Dunno if it's just me who thinks so, but nowadays they usually invite guitarists who are good and have good sales volume. ppl like malmsteen, petrucci....dun get me wrong i'm also a fan of their works, just an observation

Tony can own Vai anyday IMO. Not only has he the potential to be a great guitarist, hes a damn good keyboardist too. He should be given more credit...

Vai's and Satch's performances I enjoyed. I found that Yngwie was rather aloof during his performance. I mean, he kept dropping picks, throwing picks to the audience, missing notes and I felt his tone could be better. His drummer and keyboardist are good stuff though. And his bassist looks like MICHAEL ANGELO. No kidding.

I enjoyed the whole thing though. Especially Vai's . And the Credits! LMAO.

i loved satch's songs, and steve vai's songs were darn nice too! very creative, especially the part where they stood in a row, pressing each other's fretboard. that was funny too man!

but malmsteen's one were sian, all shredding, boring...but i like the acoustic solo, quite impressive...

Believe it or not, Tony is the most skilled guitarist that night.
It should have been retitled G4.

Yeah I got a feeling there was something more to Tony than just being the keyboardist. His technique on the fretboard was damn spot on and flawless.

I'm seriously considering to shave my head, and wear a snowcap on my head and shades. Not cos I'm trying to be a poser, but my floor is littered with hair, as my hair sheds real fast. What do you guys think? :D

Oh yeah... I think what contributed to Malmsteens poor tone was that his pre amp gain was set too high. I tried it out with my own amp. running a OD pedal as booster to a hot amp.

Also that night, the PA system failed an hour before they were due to start.
