i think it's a well deserved change in the lineup, should have done that long ago and plan for a roster of players to attend G3.

but vai a much better showman then petrucci. he is a great player not doubt but his set on live in tokyo was realli borin compared to vai. and vai is so much nicer to watch with all the crazy stuff he does. well its about time paul join the g3 entourage.

the the thing with john is that his showmanship is abit low. but take nothing away from his music and skill.
truely a master.

vai on the other hand goes crazy on stage.
and also posses skill beyond this planet.

yeah it will be interesting to see paul in G3.

I'll like to see Vai in a 3 piece, like Alien Love Secrets. That was an AMAZING album and it was something really raw... Vai only did the 3 piece once and thats it... except for that compulsory ballad on each album.
