the stickers come in a pattern when unwrapped. Follow that pattern exactly when placing them on your guitar.

No i meant.. he stated he got ways as an engineer.. so im just curious abt that.

i used my hands, but for best results u can:
get one of those tweezers, peel it off the backing paper and put them onto your fretboard slowly and lightly, (don't press on it first so you can 'undo' by peeling it off). Once you're happy with the way it fits use the fat end of a guitar pick to gently rub it onto the fretboard it should stay.
the rest, just use some common sense, (or a roll of twine works) to make it straight and true

I used a digital caliper for spacing / centering and marking mostly for the bigger leaves, the rest came naturally
