Noise Singapore Workshop Series: The Essentials of Songwriting

Whether it’s to serenade a member of the opposite sex or as a form of self-expression, everyone has had the urge to write a song at some point or the other. Now you can find out everything you need on songwriting from Joshua Tan of The Fire Fight and A Vacant Affair! He’ll not only go through the essentials, like how to set the mood of a song, lyric crafting, and structural arrangements, but he’ll also guide you on your own song too, so neither wait nor hesitate (rhyming is part of it too) and sign up quick.

Participants are required to bring an original song (could be partially complete) in a CD or digital format.

About Joshua Tan
Since 2001, Joshua has been an active performing artiste in the independent music scene in Singapore. As a singer, songwriter and guitarist, his contributions to the industry currently resound with home-grown bands, The Fire Fight and A Vacant Affair. To date, the 24 year old has officially released 2 full length albums and 2 EPs, garnering both local and regional media support and airplay on national media channels and MTV Asia. He’s even opened for Keane and Switchfoot!
