actually i have modded a schaller trem with stripped holes.
this was on a '89 charvel that was fluorescent orange, i dont miss the guitar just the color

anyway, was done simply by placing roughly a 2mm thick, 1cm long and as wide as the 6 saddles, piece of brass under the trem where the holes are.
then of cos drill new saddle mounting holes on the brass plate and fix it in place with superglue.
of cos then you will need longer saddle screw holders as the originals will not reach the brass.
needless to say, it works just as good as new.
total cost? definitely way way way less than buying a brand new schaller trem.
as for floyd rose, a cheaper alternative is the Ping floyd rose.
its the only licensed trem that has the floyd rose logo.
Ping are also the ones who make the tuners on MIM strats, so guess they're owned by fender, who of cos owns floyd rose
the giveaway is the logo on the right side.
