i have this epiphone les paul ultra with some light dings and scratches on the plastic-like finish on it.and somehow the neck on mine became glossy, which i dont really like.is there anyone or anywhere i can go to to fix these finishing stuff and get back the shiny wet new look on the finish?

anyway, does removing the finish means removing the faded cherry colour on my les paul?and can the finish be removed and reapplied with lacquer?

help is much appreciated.thanks:D

How did your neck become glossy? You applied lacquer? For neck just light sanding can larz...

For the body... leave it larz... hahaha... gigging damage adds to mojo...

i didnt apply lacquer.but i used the Dunlop 65 Cream of Carnauba a few times and it became glossy. and the dings and stuff are quite irritating to me.haha, so any idea where can i get it fixed? i was also thinking if it is possible to just remove the whole plastic-like layer and apply nitro-laq on the guitar?

Might cost you abit to do refinish. I've never heard of the Cream, but try not applying it and play through a few times? Might get it off with just plain friction from your fingers/palm. Better than sanding off... (something might go horribly wrong there... though I doubt so...)

bring down to guitar connection to see what they say. its always best to send it to a tech rather than attempting yourself unless you intend to use that guitar as test piece.
