To FINALLY, this!

Here are the things changed, from top to bottom.
1) Tuners upgraded to Gotoh Delta series tuners
2) Original Edge bridge replaced with Gotoh Licensed Floyd Rose
3) Dimarzio Humbucker From Hell and Tonezone in neck and bridge
4) 5-way switch replaced with 3-way switch.
5) Input jack replaced with stereo Switchcraft jack
6) 2 on-on mini toggles for coil split and phase (bridge)
7) Tone pot replaced with a Varitone switch

Well, none of the hardware is stock anymore, except the frets...which I expect will have to go soon, in about a year's time. :)

I'm happy!

Whoa. I'm still in the midst of upgrading my Washburn. Missing 1 pickguard, 1 trem bar, 1 pickup selector knob... pickguard will probably wait...

but anyway i see you've quite a number of interesting upgrades...

2) Original Edge bridge replaced with Gotoh Licensed Floyd Rose

how does the Gotoh Licensed FR fare in comparision to the Edge? your reasons for changing it, and do you have to increase the cavity size?

4) 5-way switch replaced with 3-way switch.

? Ya abandoned your plans of a 5 way megaswitch? I'm actually having the megaswitch now and thinking of furthering the wiring with my push pull pot.

5) Input jack replaced with stereo Switchcraft jack

What's the advantage of the Switchcraft jack? Stereo? :p

7) Tone pot replaced with a Varitone switch

That's actually what Kelvin of GC recommended me on a personal basis. however, it's near impossible to find Washburn longshaft, mini pots. (nope i still don't want to drill the body wiring cavity)

Well, the Gotoh has better sustain and harmonics ring out better, this is probably due to it having a longer trem block than the Edge and having a brass trem block as compared to the Edge's material (Can't rem the name).

However, the Edge is a much smoother feel... the Gotoh is like an OFR, pretty stiff feeling.

Yeah, the megaswitch simply wouldn't fit into my control cavity, its just too big! But now with the 3 way and the 2 mini toggles, I have a whole load of options... not to mention, i still have the Varitone.

Ah... its the industry standard thats all... as for it being stereo, GC didn't have a mono and besides, its the same thing just that its stereo. ;)

The Varitone switch is one amazing thing... ask Pooo for one... I demo-ed it for him over MSN and he's pretty sold on it!

can someone please explain to me what a varitone pot is? seems to me like its the best thing since sliced bread.. haha

might as well get parts by parts in the 1st place if u intend to replace everything..

Well, that wasn't my intention at first... anyway, I decided to upgrade instead of buying a couple more guitars. ;)

ahhhhhhhh? It that F-spaced?? Who make cover for F-spaced pup la?? Where you buy cover la???

nice mod maybe you can fix the cracks in the paint later

F-spaced and normal hums are the same size, friend. The difference lies only in the pole pieces' placement. In which the F-spaced are slightly wider apart. He bought it from Dimarzio.

And thats not cracks in the paint. Its the custom S520EX finish, the 2002 model. 8)
