Fender Hot Rod Deville 2x12"

Hi, i am considering to invest in a fender hot rod deville, i have tried it
couple of times and find the sound very rich, warm and clean.

However, i am actually a pod xt live user and i go through the mixer and
hear through a monitor. But now, i am slowly going into analog and thus,
within this budget and not more, is there other better fender amps or other
brands i should try out or consider?

Or guys who have heard the fender hot rod deville 2x12", can u share to me
your experiences? or tell me the reviews about it? both good and bad?

And is it compatible with pedals like jekyll and hyde or ts9dx or od3?

I'm using it for church music actually, for christians who noe, its around the
genre of hillsongs, planetshakers, city harvest, youthalive etc.

Will appreciate you guys' comments!! Thanks loads! =)

alex of franz ferdinand use it. i love the sound, which is plugged straight to the amp. just wondering if there any local distributors of it and how much does it cost

Clean sound wise, Twin Reverb or Deluxe Reverb is better.

From the few times I've tried this series, I find it takes pedal well.

sorry to hijack abit.does swee lee carries the twin & deluxe reverb? lifehouse do you know how much does it cost?

how big is your church and did you try the 2 x 12 in a big area? if it's big don't know if the 2 x 12 gives a nice distribution to the hall?

i think depends what size is the hall, sometimes, you should get something bigger or even better still, something smaller and then mic it up.

also what's your budget like?

this amp sounds inviting with high drive settings. killer with tubescreamers/ drive type boosters. had a chance to plug in a 'modern' guitar through it- no problems at all 8)

the on board drive actually sounds pretty bad. cleans are nice though seems to take pedals well.

anyway different tastes in drive sounds i guess.

Also, most churches I know have a confined space for the band and/or sound engineers are particularly concerned with the need to be able to control stage volumes.

Using the HRD 2x12 in a confined band area or venue where the sound is meant to be run to the audience strictly from the FOH speakers will mean that you won't have an opportunity to crank the baby up. Not an issue if you're going to rely on pedal distortion or modellers. But be aware that the amp can get very loud.

Btw, running your amp modellers through the power amp (i.e. power amp in) of the amp significantly helps with issues with amp modelling sterility.

there's this notion that only a Fender (amp) deserves a Fender (guitar)- very old school thinking this one but who's to argue that good tones will ooze out of such a combination, yes?

well, to be exact, i plugged in an Ibanez JEM to it 8) but do not invest in this amp in the knowledge that the JEM is very compatible with it, it's best to try it out yourself & hear the end result. i can only say that i like what i heard.

ahhh. to each his own yes? haha
ive yet to try a JEM yet but, i guess you're right on the old mindset on fender guitars paired with fender amps is the ONLY good combi..

but just on this topic, i have played a MIJ fender telecaster thru a marshall super lead, and i tried it for riffs and the sound on high gain was much much to piercing for me.. perhaps it was the pups, perhaps it was the eq, but nah.. marshall aint cutting it for a tele for me at this point in time.
i believe this topic of which guitar to associate to which amp has been discussed before?

the bridge pickup can do that. use with the middle pup or the neck. sweet i tell u.

i only use the bridge strat pup for those piercing moments gnarly tones like franz ferdinand hurhur.

my mistake i saw you toking abt teles no strat hurhur.
