- blues saraceno (basically the only guy who can fight with michael schenker when it comes to being melodic. awesome tone!)
- steve morse (comes up with unique amazing riffs/licks, tasty and melodic playing)
- james hetfield (hands down the best thrash metal riffing)
- jeff waters (severely underrated thrash metal player, can be hetfield's successor, but this guy can shred so he is actually more versatile and all rounded.)
- chuck schuldiner (unique player, good heavy death metal tone, nice interesting riffs/playing. the father of death metal. RIP.)
- dave grohl (very interesting and nice catchy guitar playing)
