Favourite Guitar Player

I don't have a favourite but I particularly admire Aaron Turner and Michael Gallagher from Isis, Gary Moore and Pat Metheny. I also like Slash's soloing style. I'm not very much into technicality and speed so the usual suspects aren't exactly on my list.

- michael schenker (melodic, superb tone, tasty playing)
- nuno betterncourt (tasty, melodic and funky playing, superb tone)
- chris poland (severely underrated, tasty melodic playing)
- blues saraceno (basically the only guy who can fight with michael schenker when it comes to being melodic. awesome tone!)
- steve morse (comes up with unique amazing riffs/licks, tasty and melodic playing)
- james hetfield (hands down the best thrash metal riffing)
- jeff waters (severely underrated thrash metal player, can be hetfield's successor, but this guy can shred so he is actually more versatile and all rounded.)
- chuck schuldiner (unique player, good heavy death metal tone, nice interesting riffs/playing. the father of death metal. RIP.)
- dave grohl (very interesting and nice catchy guitar playing)
- jani liimatainen (love his work with sonata arctica)
- gary moore (tasty melodic playing. epitome of blues rock)
- eddie van halen (enough said)
- al dimeola (my fave jazz player)
- john mclaughlin (another favourite jazz player)

hmmm...i've got a few. well erm lets start:
- alexi laiho and his in ur face riffs
- roope latvala got this ability to make the rhythm section very boomz!!
- elias viljanen's solos are somehow go very well with the mood of the songs he is playing
- steve vai would be the lowest in my fav though, but cant deny the fact that he's technically very accurate. he just doesnt wanna sound like "another shredder". so he adds effects and shreds only when its required. but his whammy abuse - excessive imo

Dimebag. awesome.
Matt Heafy. under-rated and sometimes overshadowed by his guitar counterpart, Corey Beaulieu.
John Mayer. of course he'd be included.
