Hi all, I intend to buy a doublebass drum pedal. Can anyone recommend which one to buy? what i have in mind is actually the TAMA ironcobra rolling glide... iam not that knowledge in dbl ped, but theres a thread on dble ped, u can take a look and read on to see the diff views..

That one you have is good enough. Must remember, is how you play it, not what you got. Certain models do give faster response. The one you have is good. There was a dude who did a comparison between Tama and DW. He recommended TAMA cos he broke two DWs. I would say he is a bad drummer to be able to break anything but results are results.

Hope it helps

For higher end pedals, I think most drummers would probably recommend either the Tama Iron Cobra or the Pearl Eliminator. DW pedals are great too, but they are way too pricey. It depends on your budget as well. Lower budget but still not-bad pedals would be Pacific and Yamaha pedals.

Maybe you should check out the specifications of various pedals from their respective websites before making a decision. Best if you can physically try on the pedals too. Some research always helps. Only then you'd know which pedals you should go for. End of the day, it's how you feel playing with the pedals and not the brand of it :)

Best pedal is bicycle pedal IMO.. Hahahahahaha!

No lah just jokin... test several models. Be it Tama, Pearl, DW, Pacfic.. go get one that suits u best..

Thanks for your response.. well... it seems that swee lee every a few months will have its sale? the iron cobra costs 504 dollars at swee lee.. is there any way which i can get cheaper? anyone out there got a swee lee discount card? hee.. sound cheapo , but i m sincere.. low budget due to low earning abiity. . i m welcome for more comments as well.. coz 500 plus, i m just afraid that i might regret after getting it. I m a drummer in church.. No one to teach me but i learn on my own. thanks , guys.
Guys, please dont stop the conversation. cheers.. Shawn

Look out for 2nd hand deals or try the mid-range pedals. Easier on your pocket as well. I started out with Pacific pedals are they were not bad at all.

Once you place the top range pedals side by side, there really isn't the "best" or the "better" one. The DW 5002, the Iron Cobras, the Eliminators are all on par in terms of quality and build. In terms of configuration, the Eliminator wins hands down though, but many would argue that it provides many unnecessary configurations. Anyway, the DWs are way too overpriced, choose within the range of IC pedals or the Eliminators.

I got a DW 9002 double bass pedal myself. Response are super swift and powerful. But i heard that Pearl eliminater is good too because it can be adjusted to the feel of Tama's Iron Cobra and the feel of DW pedals. Im not sure how far this is true but i heard it.

Pearl double base pedal maybe hard to play at first , but once you mastered it , you can easily play those pedals outside such as those in the jamming studios, another words , it 'Trains' your leg!

Hope this information helps you

8O Like how much did that cost you? Haha.

Good buy. Like I've mentioned, IC, Elims, 5002s are all top range. But of course, the ones at the top of the foodchain is the 9002 (some people complain about these pedals being TOO smooth ), or Axis for direct drive. I would love to try these someday.

DW 9000 Dbls cost ard SD$900 at Ranking.. Damn ex for me.. IMO after comparing the price between DW 9000 and Iron Cobra/ Pearl Elims, I rather go with the either IC or Elims..

Its up to U as a drummer.. The market's big for drummers out there..

Be picky in your choosing for ur stuffs as it is ur Personal equipment.

Hey Guys,

Have you considered the TAMA HP200 Twin which is an excellent pedal for the money. I like to think of it as the Iron Cobra's baby brother. I bought it and it has never let me down. It has great feel and is quite responsive.

It cost me SG$700+ from US.

the smoothness serves a purpose. if you can master how to control that smoothness , you can play double double strokes like a monster jammer!! haha

well, i own the tama iron cobra rolling glide and i'm a happy man. it's the most durable double pedal out there. there's a post in the pearl drummers forum that made comparison with dw, pearl and tama. seems that dw is the "weakest" as it tends to break and snap into 2.

i'm not saying that dw pedal sucks, alot of great artist uses them. but apparently their quailty went down as oppose to those made before '91. that's what my friend said.

just my 2cents.

DW Pacific DP402 Double Bass Drum Pedal

is this gd? for beginner to intermediate player learning double bass?

SHAwn..i recommend the pearl eliminators.. they are really worth it..

read the reviews here.. reviews here are for the single pedals..but the double pedal..uses the exact same pedal..except, that its double..thats it.

other than that..its all the same.

really..the best pedal..ive ever played on.

Yup!! And bklk's feet was a blur when he played those songs from LOG!!!

Really fast!!! I was like WTF!!?? 8O

Anyway, I'm intending to strip my old Pearl Pedals and modify it so somewhat like an Elims.

Still figuring how to do that..

One thing I like abt the Eliminator is the interchangeable Cams.

Red,White, blue, black, purple or yellow for different cam feel. I'ma red cam freak! And I love the smoothness and everything.

Abt the ICs, the vari-pitch beater head adjustments and the footboard adjustments angle are the plus points for it.

Suddenly I had this obnoxious idea of combining both pedals just like how the Pearl Forums ppl did.

But i really no idea on how to dismantle the pedals. Anyone can help?

NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

Why make billions? When U can take millions??!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHA!! Watched too much Austin Powers lah!!

Don't worry. I'm not dismantiling everything. I'm just trying to get the best of both worlds.. Dats all!!

I love the interchangeable cam system but the ICs vari-beater angle is a plus point.

It would be nice to combine both right??
