TIME: 2pm

The flute, the veena, the sitar, the tabla and the mridangam are five essential instruments that come together to provide the quintessential, most recognisable sound for Indian music.

Here is an opportunity to get close to these instruments and learn more about how they are used to create beautiful sounds in the Indian musical context. Some concepts of Indian music will be shared during this session, along with an explanation of the characteristics of each instrument and how they can be orchestrated together.

There will be live demonstrations of the musical instruments as well as a short performance given of an arrangement that will feature all the instruments discussed.
This session will greatly benefit those who are interested in Asian musicality or instrumentation in general.
