Hie all,

I dont know where else to post this up... I'll be visiting singapore for the first time for Baybeats. I want to check out some guitars too while i'm there (i'm from KL). I'm interested in LTD guitars so where can i find a shop that sells it?? If you guys dont mind me asking , where can i get a good deal for LTD guitars ?? You guys have crazy discounts during sales right?? Will there be any sales during Baybeats' weekend??

ESP/ LTD available @ Davis GMC: 3 Coleman Street, Peninsula Shopping Complex, #B1-40.

as for discounts, it's between you & the store.

I checked on esp japan's website... they have these other brands called Grassroots and Edwards... and a few more... are these like cheaper version of their own esp or wat?? where can i find them?

they are not much cheaper alternatives but are all worthy variations. the Edwards subdivision has a certain 'copy' focus. these guitars are not to be dismissed & should be checked out. the Grassroots offerings are the domestic market's 'LTD'. the LTDs are ESP's budget offshoots, catering to the international market.

meaning that Edwards and Grassroots are good guitars but due to not so good marketing , LTD and ESP got the bigger name right??

not quite.

Grassroots/ Edwards aren't international offerings. they address the domestic/ regional market. these are Japanese products, they cost much less than ESP.

LTD is a budget interpretation of the expensive ESP models, they are offered everywhere & are as popular as the ESP versions. LTD is Korean.

Grassroots and Edwards are actively sold only in japan, basically. the ones here in sg are imported.

another reason is also due to copy issues and stuff like that; ESP japan sells explorers, while ESP USA doesn't.

My next acquisition : Edwards LP-85CD..

Anyone wanna gif some opinion on this?

hey subby,

i guess u will be ordering from Davis as well rite? ItAcHi got his @ $1.2k.

wat about ur goldtop with p90s?

he bought the black one @ Davis is it? after trying that guitar, i have a clearer picture of what Edwards has in store & where they stand in terms of LP copies. well, i do not deem them as fab copies, they are impressive singlecuts to say the least.

precisely.. and they are slapped in with Seymour Duncans (auto pickup upgrade for me).

im getting that LP-85CD, i tink it shud be the cheapest amongst the rest. correct me if im wrong.

majority of the passive pickup Edwards LP are about $1.2k, the EMG ones cost slightly more.

yes, the Duncans in there is a great enticement. 8) however, if you are looking forward to a Gibson LP-like bottom end thumping, it still has that inherent brightness which is very useful IMO. i'm just giving the p-90 a go.

haha looks lyk we're both after the same specifications, except the finish & pickups selection..

if im not wrong, urs is also a Edwards LP-85CD with p90s. when u heading down to order? let me informed, i might wanna tag along.

sure! i think you should know me by now- i don't fancy a visual top, i'm with solid colours. the other reason why i'm investing in a p-90 this time round is that i kinda miss this guitar:

can't see the pic.. im contemplating on a gibson, but quite exp..

if i cld maximize my cash on a cheaper les paul copies/singlecut & still get almost the same kind of specifications, why not? hehe.. btw, does it comes with hardcase?

hard case- no idea... will ask.

my recent experience with Gibson renews my opinion that there are better value-for-$$$ acquisitions out there... out of 3 experiences with Gibson, 2 had let me down :smt011
