For a side sometimes labelled as soft, Arsenal have certainly been doing things the hard way in recent matches.
They won 2-0 at in-form Blackburn with 10 men last weekend and on Sunday scored twice in the last seven minutes to beat leaders Manchester United at Emirates Stadium.
According to Cesc Fabregas the seeds of both victories were sown in a bruising defeat at Bramall Lane just before the New Year.
“We said after the Sheffield United game that something had to change,” said the 19-year-old Spaniard. “We needed to be stronger in every part of the game. And since then we have showed everyone that we have changed.
“We have moved on. Nobody can stop us if we carry on playing the way we are playing. We lost 1-0 at Sheffield United and there was a lot of things to improve and think about. That's what we did and right now we are feeling really, really good.
Even after Sunday’s win the gap to Premiership leaders remains a hefty 12 points. Can Arsenal perhaps reel them in?
“We are there,” smiled Fabregas. “Even if we don't have to think about it right now we know there is still a chance. It is really annoying to beat Tottenham, Liverpool three times, Man United two times, draw at Chelsea then you see a table and [Man United] are far away.
“Today was the big day. If we have drawn or lost we could say goodbye to the Premiership. But there is still a small chance and until someone says to me it is over we will think we can still do it.”

Do you leave Arsenal home games before the final whistle to beat the crowds or catch the early train? If you do, you might want to reconsider.
Sunday's dramatic comeback against Manchester United was the latest in a long line of frantic finales at Emirates Stadium. Goals from Robin van Persie and Thierry Henry snatched victory from the jaws of defeat but the statistics suggest that Arsenal's late flurry should not have been a surprise.
Arsène Wenger's side have an outstanding record in the final 10 minutes* of their Premiership home games since the start of last season. During that time Arsenal have outscored their opponents 20-0. This represents nearly a quarter of their goals scored in that entire 17-month period.
To put Arsenal's prolific late scoring rate in perspective, their closest challengers over the same time frame is Liverpool with nine goals. And while the Merseysiders have shipped goals in the final 10 minutes of home games, Arsenal's defence has not been breached.
Since moving to Emirates Stadium, Arsenal have scored 10 goals in the last 10 minutes of home games in all competitions. Gilberto salvaged a draw with a late equaliser on the opening day of this season against Aston Villa and Mathieu Flamini grabbed a last-minute winner against Dinamo Zagreb four days later.
Hamburg were humbled by late goals from Emmanuel Eboue and Julio Baptista, Robin van Persie's double - and another for Flamini - turned a narrow lead over Blackburn into a thumping victory last month and Van Persie netted just before the final whistle against Charlton three weeks ago.
Of course, the Dutchman was at it again on Sunday before Henry broke United's hearts. In fact, of the 20 Premiership goals scored in the last 10 minutes of Arsenal's home games since the start of last season, Van Persie and Henry lead the way with six apiece.
So, if a game at the Emirates seems to be petering out or meandering towards a predictable conclusion, don't be tempted to make an early exit. Arsenal often leave it late, but it's always worth the wait.

Thierry Henry believes Arsenal’s comeback victory over Manchester United will mean little unless they find more consistency.
The Frenchman scored the winner as Arsène Wenger’s side struck twice in the last seven minutes at Emirates Stadium on Sunday to secure a famous victory.
This season Arsenal have beaten Manchester United twice, Liverpool three times, Tottenham once and taken a battling point home from Stamford Bridge. However they are still a dozen points adrift from Sir Alex Ferguson’s side in the Premiership. It just goes to prove they are capable of greatness but need to perform week in, week out to sustain it.
“Sunday showed we can play some great stuff,” Henry told Arsenal.com. “Now we need some consistency and to pick up points game by game.
“You can’t moan if you are 12 points behind. It is for a reason. Now we just have to grab the points we can grab.”
Crucially Henry believes Arsenal CAN still win the title. He described it as a “massive task” but “mathematically doable’. However only the future will determine if the results from this weekend will have a lasting effect on the Premiership title race.
“I am really not sure,” said the 29-year-old. “I just think it was a good weekend for Liverpool [who beat Chelsea] and for us.
“But if you don’t carry on then it won’t mean anything. You need to [go on] and make sure you can remember this game and say it was the turning point. At the moment it is a great win don’t get me wrong but, as I said, I would rather be top of the League than do the double [over Manchester United].
“It is always something great to beat them. But at the same time it is important to go on a great run now and make sure you can capitalise on the big game we had on Sunday.”

honestly i saw that when he celebrated he didn't really jump that high, and his landing was quite normal..
oh well, the last time rooney had the same injury they also forecasted 6 weeks but he took way longer than that to recover I think...before the world cup.
On a scientific front , I think it has something to do with the newer boots imho
