anyway, i hated the way barca played after they scored the winning goal. displayed total childish-ness and unprofessionalism.

played one-two all the way. like around the defence and midfields. while when arsenal scored the winning goal they still played in style and attacking.

Are u sure Barca were the only ones who displayed unprofessionalism? As I said, AT LEAST barca kept the ball on the field. The ref didn't have to hound them, unlike Arsenal who took their own sweet time when the ball went out. Did u see how long Almunia took to take a goal kick? It actually seemed fun to watch Arsenal panic as the clock ran down.

It's not just Arsenal, i dislike it when teams take an early lead and waste time. It becomes fun when the other team makes a comeback.

and fgl strikes me as someone who cant accept defeat?

Sorry old man, but I gotta agree...even I would be gutted if Man United lost a final...but it's over, Barca scored 2 slick goals. Eto'o certainly did not dive...it was clear that Lehmann's hand caught his leg and if Barca could choose, they certainly would have the goal then to have Lehmann sent off. But Eboue certainly fell as if he was hit by a stick from behind. Though I have to agree that before Barca scored, ARSEnal's defence was resolute...congrats to Barcelona anyway! Great team...definitely the deserving champs!

at least when the ball was out. and there were still alot more time. and yes they wasted time, but like wat? a few seconds? and they were still on the on the attack.

barca? noooo.. they had to play one-twos with one another in the defensive area. now tell me why that isnt blatant unprofessionalism.

anyway, kudos to overnite-barca supporters.
henry will stay. trust me.

henry will definitely stay in Paris and celebrate with the Barca players,
get to know them better. Important for next season :?

Eh please lah. You all talk as though these teams or player bring rice to your table. Can we all just shut up and wait for the World Cup.

Peace.

juz as Mr Gomes said... wayang

BTW the bladdy ref today admitted his mistake in papers about sending off Lehmann - next he'll be admitting he's a barca fan & took $$$ I'm sure.

FGL..

No offence but again I ask you to be gracious in defeat.
Your words seem to suggest that you are 'HIGH' and losing
your bearings eventhough your team is already BURied.

After you are done drowning your sorrows, you can start anew
as Arsenal has a new stadium to look forward to. I suggest you
change your HIGHBURY display as a gesture of reflection.

"If, like me, you woke up yesterday morning to hear Arsenal's moans from the night before being replayed, you may well have shared my thought that they are in danger of obscuring their achievements this season in a cloud of complaints. I hope for the sake of Thierry Henry, Arsène Wenger and David Dein that it stops soon because Arsenal will lose the neutral's sympathy otherwise. What Arsenal need to do is to take a deep breath and reflect."

Henry - We deserved to leave with our heads up
Barcelona 2-1 Arsenal
Champions League Round F
Stade de France
Wed, May 17, 2006, 7.45pm

By Richard Clarke

Thierry Henry stood up in the dressing room after last night’s Champions League Final defeat and told his shattered side that he was proud of them.

Ten-man Arsenal looked like they were going to pull off one of the greatest ever European victories at the Stade de France. However two late Barcelona goals left them empty-handed in everything but self-esteem.

“People say sometimes that when the game is hard for Arsenal they drop,” said Henry afterwards. “Well I am sorry but I’d like to say that my team deserves to be proud and leave the stadium with their heads up.

“Personally I am more than proud. All the time people talk about Barcelona being the best side in Europe and you can say that they are because they won the Champions League. But I am sorry even with 10 we did well.

“I know [the fans] are disappointed but at the same time they can all be proud of us. Usually I am a winner, I don’t like to lose. But tonight you can lose with dignity and hold your head up. Then if you lose you lose.

“What we gave today was more than them in terms of heart and everything, they had the luck but we fought hard. As I said to the guys in the dressing room you have nothing to be ashamed of nothing at all.

“I gave everything, Sol gave everything, Freddie gave everything. I don’t know if you saw but with 20 minutes to go he had his hands on his knees.

“I was looking at the clock and thinking ‘can you not make a move there’. I have never finished a game so empty.”

^ Well, at least you're still supporting ARSEnal...I despise people who support and change club once that team wins something big...trophy hunters suck!
