lol.. nice goal by spurs.. esp when can see Wenger's showdown with Jol.. ahah.. macham gonna start headbutting each other liao..

the Keane goal reminds me so much of the unsportsman-like goal that Arsenal score a few years back in a FA cup clash.. must be bad karma tats y Spurs scored

a fair result i guess...although we should have won it. sitting back after a 1 nil lead was not a good idea, especially once henry came on. we should have continued to push up...

oh well..now for bolton and newcastle..

Is it just me or does the new stadium turn out badly ...
i mean, the spectators are to near to the pitch which could cause
danger to players, they could either get attack by spectators or allow spectators to get into the pitch and disrupt the match...
It just didnt turn out to expectations although it looks much bigger than the previous one...

in fairness Arsenal were CRAP yesterday but that bit of unsportsman like behavior by Keane & co was too much even for the spurs

...

some players stay down longer than necessary. it is irritating when the whole play stops when a player goes down, only for him to get back up on his feet immediately after. if the opposing team wants to carry on with their game, they're certainly entitled to do so. let's face it, if the game is stopped because the player exaggerates the extent of his injury, it is still unsporting behaviour, isn't it? just a matter of who gets away with it. the rule is simple: play to the whistle.

anyway, these things even themselves out. the arsenal equaliser too was dodgy. classy finish but the build-up was hardly fair, shirt-tugging and all. it's all been conveniently overlooked it, hasn't it?

at the end of the day, we had a game which had everything: passing football of the highest order, goals, a sending-off, passion, controversy, the whole nine yards. certainly a fitting last-north-london-derby at highbury.

Parameswara: what on earth are you talking about? they haven't played at the new stadium yet.. that's the old one, bro.. ;)

the two gooner morons bashed into each other, carrick looked up and the ref waved play on. fair's fair.
if anything lehmann should be charged for the FA purely for being a dickhead. wenger pretty much showed his lack of class by storming off like a petulant little child after the final whistle.

full credit to henry though..he's the best player the arse have and him going around shaking the hands of all the spurs player after the match.. that's class right there. thank god he's leaving the gooners at the end of the season...he deserves better things.

the scum are NOTHING with henry, period. enjoy your CL run while it lasts, don't even expect to qualify next season.

it was fair as the Referee waved 'play on' . It is fair and thus Arsenal ( and their fans ) have not much justification to point accusations of being "unsporting" to Spurs ( and their fans ). This action in my opinion is highly that of contempt; that Arsenal is a world above Spurs and thus not even a honourable draw would suffice.

lol.. let's forget abt the spurs match and look forward to the villareal match.. shld expect to see more injury feinging and diving.. haha.. and maybe another unsportsman-like goal..

true..with the amount of women in the team like pires, fabergas, van persie (all graduates of the "hit with a sledgehammer" school of acting) it should be quite amusing.

spur-scum fans have invaded the thread I see.... like I said, can't be helped, JAKUN - never played in CL before so die die MUST qualify.....

Think about it - the last tyme spurs won the league was in 1961 - Thats 45 yes FORTY FIVE YEARS AGO... egads - most of us werent even born...

Fictionare - abt the staying down too long bits - all very true incl AFC's last match vs Villareal BUT Ljungberg still kicked it out of play with even ONE Villareal player down injured.

we'll see what happens come end of season ok?...

on the build-up to Tottenham's goal

"No, I do not go as far as that. I just say Tottenham played well today, especially in the first half."

If Villarreal are to reach the Champions League Final they must score at least two goals against Arsenal on Tuesday night — and that is as many as Arsène Wenger’s side have conceded in the entire competition this season.

It is seven months since the Frenchman’s defence was breached in European competition.

Thun’s Nelson Ferreira did it on September 14 and Markus Rosenberg of Ajax did it 13 days later. Since then the team have rattled up nine consecutive clean sheets — a Champions League record.

Villarreal did not seem unduly disappointed with their 1-0 defeat at Highbury last week. They remained compact, composed and cautious throughout the 90 minutes. But that must change in the return rubber.

“They looked happy with a 1-0,” said Wenger before the weekend game with Tottenham. “That's what Thierry Henry saw and called it negative. I don't really think they were negative. But they were a team who never came out and always tried to stop us going forward on the breaks especially.

“They did that well with a lot of tactical maturity. They will have to come out now of course.

“The best way to deal with that is to score [ourselves]. That would be ideal and that's what we'll try to achieve. We are a team who can always score goals. But as well I think that for us it’s most important to go there, form a good defensive base every time we go forward and try to win the game.

“It's good because we have as well a few clean sheets, so one defence will have to give in and I hope it will be them.

“It's not the biggest of stadiums. It's a bit like a Highbury but they have a good pitch and when you have good technique that's most important.

“I feel the pace of our game will be the key, we will try to play at a high pace. I think they'll try to up theirs as well so you should see a
