gas hit me real bad recently when i was browsing through the epiphone website and saw the epiphone elitist and decided i should go get one for myself.but i dont know which les paul to get.im eying at the elitist lp custom in alpine white or black, tak matsumoto elitist lp, and the '57 goldtop elitist lp.could softies give me some views?the prices are in the 2k range

i know all are good.but the goldtop's back would there be wood grains like the gibson kind or would it be like other epiphones that have a solid black finish with no sight of the wood at all?

a friend of mine has an elitist custom in black. very nice guitar. even with his crappy amp. i hear they are very comparable to gibsons, even better than the special series guitars. don't quote me on that one though.
 
yes the elitist is comparable to the big guns.but with a price tag of 2k+/- its more worth to get a gibson anyway.

maybe a late 90s gibson studio where the QC isnt as bad as now.

so you would mean that there would be visible wood grains on the elitist as those on the gibson goldtop?

judging from these 2 pics i assume that the grains are visible at the back.

yeah i saw that review before.and he got it from hk at 1.5k.im wondering if i'll visit there anytime soon.
