Epiphone DOT...

i need help...will the DOT sound good with distortion?
...i play lotsa stuff...but more on punk and grunge...so the distortion will be quite heavy distortion...
so what do you guys think...???
i alreadi noe how it sounds clean..cause i tested it..but forgot to test with distortion so ya....HELP...

If you're gonna play loud (like most grunge bands do), I'd recommend that you steer clear of any hollow bodies, cause it'll squeal like a pig. Unless of course you plug all the holes, just like what Clapton, Carlton, EJ or anyone did.

Now does it sound good with distortion? Depends on the pickup. But heck, it worked for Clapton, and he "created" the raunchy Marshall singing sustaining sound that we know of today.

What good to me, might not good to you, vice versa.
And what to you is a distortion, might sound like swarming bees to someone else (thus, never sound good to any guitar :lol: ) or perhaps just a mere mild overdrive to some.

Best is go to guitar shops, and try it yourself.

You can always be able to find some artist using some particular guitar if that really makes you feel better with your decision.

Literally. Those guys stuffed the chambers with something (cloth if I'm not mistaken) so it won't feedback at loud stage volume.
