Enquiry: Pedal issue

Hi,

Have a compressor, Boss CS-3. Apparently was working fine when i first bought it (2nd hand), today I tried it again and it wasn't working.

Problem: When I step on the pedal to activate, very minimal sound but with a loud (fzzzzzzz) sound; very airy zzzzz. When I disable it, guitar volume drops horribly and is barely audible. Anyone has an idea of what is going on? Am a little tight on cash for techies to review it; hope am able to rectify the problem myself.

it hard to know whats going on, without techie to look at it and just by words...

to diy, it might just increase the chances of really rendering the thing to a glorious paper weight...

Imho, save up and look for the right people to take a look, to save frustration

anyway, from what you mentioned, it seem the input(geetar signal) is not getting to the output, both in "on" mode and "off mode", so either path, theres some blockage. If its just jack problem, perhaps still ok, if having to do with the circuit side, then prolly no easy way to diy, other than looking for techie

seriously, imho, its really not worth it to diy if really having no prior time with tinkering round boss pedals innard. Within it, are much more things than lotsa booteek pedals out there and if you can find the schematic for it(theres quite number of boss schematic floating around), most likely it will look like rocket science instead..

Doubt he'll refund or anything. Was working fine for a few days. Not sure what happened.

Anyone has someone to recommend?

Did you try changing the battery?

Nope, didn't.

I'm using AC. Maybe will try battery later but don't make a difference IMO.

The issue is with the 'very-low-output' change from the day I bought it. Volume was ok, until when I tried using it again, volume dropped drastically. Can't be rectify by adjusting the volume knobs from all over; amp, guitar, pedal. Just very soft.

Sorry wasn't in the right mind when typing. Using a 1spot adaptor, think thats a DC?
