Hi all,

As some of you may know, it's been awhile since ZHEN went on stage to rock our socks off, what with some line-up changes and brand new re-arranegments of songs. 2005 was such a busy year for us, playing at Barnone, Baybeats, Esplanade's Fringe Festival etc that I think we did need that few months sabbatical for some serious woodshedding and re-focusing which every band has to go through at least once in its lifespan :)

BUT I'm really excited to share with everyone that ZHEN is back once again in 2006, wiith a new powerful kick-ass drummer Sam and another excellent guitarist Hass'n added to ZHEN's lineup! Ying of Throb has also agreed to honour ZHEN with her awesome keyboard prowess as sessionist with ZHEN!

So make a gig date with ZHEN on the 21st April (fri) at Raffles Junior College's HUGE 25th Anniversary Celebrations and Charity Concert that is in conjuction with the Arts Festival. We will be performing brand new arranegements of original epic rock numbers at 9pm, alongside other great acts Electrico, E.I.C. and SpanishFly. Those who are already on our invites list can also expect a little surpise! Email at hello@zhen.sg for more inquiries.

*In May, ZHEN has also been invited to play at the ESPN STARSPORTS ASIAN X-GAMES in KL. Stay logged for more details coming up!

who went? spanish fly kicked ass hahaha. but the crowd there was so small. and everyone was sitting at the back during zhen's set. i could see that the vocalist was offended. haha but they were good! only thing was that i couldn't really hear the guitars well.

I agree with Daryl on both SpanishFly Rockin'TFU and the crowd problem during Zhen's set. Zhen was good.. What I feel is having chairs at a gig is never a good idea.. people start getting lazy.

Worth mentioning too are Electrico, putting up a great set as usual, and EIC, (Mr.) Siva and gang working the crowd to a happy merry jumping singalong bunch.

I think I better stop here & go and edit the shots I took @ the gig...

Electrico, E.I.C, Spanishfly & the all-female Band-Age were AWESOME!!

I would like to feedback that the sound was quite bad, very muffled & not clear @ all. Last of all, it is way too loud.

Electrico - POWER starter!!
E.I.C. - lurve their pop-rockish stuffs & how they got the crowd working!! not to mention there was impromptu ENCORE...
Spanishfly - energetic & 1 of their *ahem* guitarist was quite proficient with his SOLO/RIFFs
Band-Age - provided a relatively quieter moments.

Rock On!!

why didn't anyone mention ABSOLUT! just typing out the name makes me high. and the lead guitarist absolut-ly awed the crowd with his killer riffs and solos. oh man i think his playing style was influenced by his mama!(or james hetfield), when she caned him. and the LEAD SINGER. the way he fell down on his ass was so inspiring, i wanna do it one day too!

hahaha okay seriously. i thought that all the bands were great that day, thanks to raffles rock for organising such a great show (:

Yea, ABSOLUT!! The band with all the RJ ruggers.

The onli normal person I can find in the band is the bassist. The rest were jus overcome with rock star syndrome.

The rhythm & drummer were busy vibrating away with some kinda parkinson disease, while the singer thought he was Kurt Cobain for a moment & the lead tone didn't exactly cut thru much.

But their bravery & stage presence was quite commendable.
