EHX stereo electric mistress bypass problem

hey guys, i own an ehx stereo electric mistress

i'm having a problem with the bypass. you see, when the pedal is powered, the bypass is fine. but when the pedal is not powered and bypassed, the signal distorts.

anyone has any idea what's going on?

for those who are not aware, the SEM is digital, true bypassed, and only works on 9v dc (no battery)

is this a common problem with the SEM? or is this the first time u've come across a problem like this? cos i'm planning on getting one

i've had the SEM for a couple of months but i don't ever recall having this problem in the past. my entire chain is true bypassed, and sometimes i don't connect the daisy chain to the power socket (adaptors consume electricity even when not in use - doing my bit for the environment 8) ) when i play at home

i've tried googling but i couldnt find anything

EHX has replied!

Thank you for purchasing the Stereo Electric Mistress. It does not have true bypass, it has a high quality buffered bypass.

Thanks,
John

so... yeah. that settles it then :P

Wah .... dude i believe you play for 18 hrs a day ?

nolah, but if i forget to switch off it becomes 24/7

dudelove: i'm guessing that it distorts because there is not enough headroom or bandwith or (proper terminology here), when the buffer is off
