Effects loopers to act like a/b box etc..

Sleepkitty...have lah....see http://www.loooper.com/2Looopers.htm) The looper he built for me has 2 loops (each has a pair of send/return jacks) and one master output....

Something like this (but my master ON/OFF switch is in the middle):
2LABYloopsCream.JPG

...that means you can either use Loop A/B/Both or bypass them totally, sending the guitar signal from input to output directly...if that's what you want

dtrulez38, i checked out the line selector. it was pretty interesting. if only had a 'remote' input so i can plug in a footswitch to toggle between the different modes.

YES elias that was exactly what i was looking for! :D but the link you gave me was wrong. it's http://www.loooper.com/2LoooperABYloops.htm haha. i've pmed you for more details

hmm parallel effects sounds interesting. essentially it's the same as using your amp's fx loop am i right?

No actually, your amp's fx loop is just for you to place effects between the preamp and the poweramp. That is (amp)preamp->effectsloop->(amp)poweramp

Hmm another way of thinking about it is this.
Record your guitar once with a phaser.
Record your guitar EXACTLY the same with an overdrive.
Now mix both guitar parts together, what do you hear?

It's not an overdrive into a phaser, nor a phaser into an overdrive, but something totally different.

The loooper is interesting. I'll research a bit into this and see if it could be done. The guy is outstanding but to my knowledge will not be building anymore pedals due to carpal tunnel syndrome. He has not had any pedals built in more than a year I think.

Yeah blueark...if you can tap into this area as well, you'll be doing the local (as well as the industry) guys a huge favour :) Cos I've sorta searched around and the closest thing is loop-master products that offer somewhat 'similiar-but-still-not-there' type of customisation. It's a pity that Dave (Loooper) is suffering from his condition cos I absolutely dig what he offered in his Loooper line. I got mine more than 4 or 5 years ago and it never failed me...built like a tank.

Good luck, bud!

sleepykitty,

as blueark said, david from looper has "retired" and is not building any pedals anymore.

concidentally, i was looking for the same type of pedal but could not find any suitable.

blueark,

would be helpful if you can research on this.

Alright. It's doable, with a 4pdt. In the past, 4pdts were highly unreliable, but smallbear has VERY recently (May 29th this year) got a manufacturer to machine some good ones. They'll be more pricey than the 3pdts, but I can get a hold of some.

I suspect loooper was using the older ones. Maybe Elias can open up the back of his pedal and see if it really is a 4pdt? Or maybe loooper was using relays.

Looks like that way...provided there's a master input/output (which I think I see that in the pic).

Anyway, I'll try to see if I can open up my loooper to see the insides when I get home

Ah karfty, thanks for that pic, it's very obvious now. His Loop1+2 switch is exactly like what the older 4pdts look like, very different from the 3pdt look. Alright I'll order in a batch of the new sturdy 4pdts and can cater to anyone who's looking for something like this.

blueark, thanks let us know once it is orderable.

hopefully you can squeeze into a mxr size box like elias' loooper...

sleepykitty,

actually loop-master has something that fits the bill

http://www.loop-master.com/product_info.php?cPath=33&products_id=130

it is much longer that elias' loooper though. I didn't need the tuner out either.

blueark,

loop-master also has a loop 1 + loop 2 looper, and he uses 4PT as well.

i've been looking around for a looper like that. But, more of having a couple of loops. a strip looper with 5-6 loops for individual effects. quite hard to sing and tap dance at the same time.

blue ark, is a 5-6 strip looper do-able on your side?

Looks like the strip loopers are very popular. I'll see if I can get in some of those boxes.

A/B/Both definitely can be put into those Little Big Muff sized enclosures. You can order anytime, I'll just take quite a while to build them that's all :D
