The new edge pro trem by ibanez do not require you to cut the ball end off the string. Is this so with your guitar??
If so, then you may have not let the strings anchor properly before applying the bridge end lock. This design is not a clamp style of locking, but is actually "ball anchor" locking by nature.
So to remedy it, you must loosen the bridge till the string can slip easily, but the ball end is still too big to go thru. Assist by pulling till the ball is "anchored" on the other end, then tighten. No need to tighten real hard, just a bit tight so the clamp won't vibrate.
Try the above is your bridge fits my description, and let us know of the outcome. Cheers.
