Early Mobile Termination.. Recent news says its lowered.?

one tip about this kinda thing...
if you want something done right, DO NOT call...
GO DOWN to their service centre and
BANG TABLE & DEMAND IT TO BE RESOLVED IMMEDIATLEY!
it will definately work wonders compared to calling.
well, at least it works for me
:)

Just got screwed over by SH AGAIN!

Time to play in Plan B, the MOM.

I just hope one day that the people in the billing department gets the treatment from jigsaw.

the problem with any other service providers except starhub is that it's per minute billing. i really really hate that because they're making a lot of money through this.

one reason why i put up with the starhub is their per second billing and no peak / off-peak charges. they charge 15 cents per minute (divided evenly by 60 for per second charge) all day, while m1 and singtel charges 20 cents per minute from 7am to 7pm and 10 cents per minute from 7pm to 7am. FROM 7PM TO 7AM MOST OF US ARE FREAKIN' AT HOME, WHY DO WE NEEDA USE OUR HP TO MAKE CALLS!? house phone's 3 cents per minute.

more than half of my outgoing calls are below a min, and i don't agree on paying 60 seconds of usage when i only used like 10 to 20 seconds. and i don't time my calls (i'm sure most of you don't) so that they end at 59 seconds, or blocks of 20 seconds there after. singtel and m1 are making us pay for what we're not using, so even though their service / reception is better than starhubs, i'm not switching if they're not changing theirs to per second billing.

The 200 free out going minutes i'm getting from sh is what is stated. the 300 free out going minutes u're getting from m1 or singtel, well, i can bet u use ur phone less than mine and will still exceed the 300 before i exceed my 200.

the pros and cons of sh, singtel and m1.. haiz..

im on m1 student plan(56 bucks one).. quite good lol. 300 free mins unlimited sms and 12 gb data
lol i calculate all these before la, it's still not as worth it as my $38 starhub student plan, exactly the same but 200 free outing going mins as compared to ur 300.

but after the caller id charge mine's about $43 +gst and all. and i suspect my net speed is slower than urs. i cannot stream HQ youtube vids (on the youtube app for windows phone) smoothly sometimes.

is M1's 3G coverage good? Gonna get a smartphone to surf on the go. I plan to change to M1 cos of the per second billing and their $100 port-over discount. Combining with my mom's and dad's bills would give a 25% discount too, which amounts to $25/mth at least.

M1's NSF/student plan does not increase free minutes AFAIK, only unlimited sms.

the 100 extra free minutes promotion happens around 1 in 3 mth, so u need to wait for this promotion to happen then sign up the plan.

oh? m1 changed their service to per second billing? lol damn i've still got about 2 years to go for my starhub plan...

somehow when i got full reception at raffles area my smses take 2 minutes to send and i cant make calls.

but when im at yishun with 1 bar reception my calls are clear and sms are sent instantly.

singtel btw.

M1 - Probably currently have the least market share in the mobile market
thus their cust svc is excellent. They do throw in a lot of freebies to attract and draw cust. When they first started out, cust svc is negative, nv pay bill for 2 mth threaten to cut ur line already. But now they are humbled.
So folks no harm signing M1 cos they now have chng and have excellent cust svc.

Singtel - Supposedly to have the biggest share of the mobile market. Cust svc is negative cos they think they own the whole market now. So perks and benefits wise, they dun really give out a lot.
But still, they are the largest telco in sg for a reason, so no harm signing them up as they provide fair svc to all consumers.

Starhub - Probably a strong competitor in the market. After losing the barclay's rights to Singtel, in some sense, they do try their best to retain and attract cust. Cos they want to win back the market. Have excellent cust svc cos their motto is to provide a special cust exp. Sometimes u do have to be firm with them in order to get the perks and benefits.
As long as u feel u're right, and u insists in it, Sh will give in to ur demands, but not always. And this area as compared to Singtel, they proved themselves to be stronger as no matter how u insists, Singtel will not ggive in to u.

Just my 2 cts worth :)

my personal experience was singtel was pretty pleasant, same for starhub.

for singtel, was when i made calls when i was at changi (used to train for sports at changi area) and my network selection was automatic. so the network automatically switched to malaysian line and end of the month when the bills came i got charged for auto-roaming. my mom called to let them know what actually happened, they waived the foreign charges.

for starhub, was what i mentioned before regarding the data charges. though i think they could have improved by actually updating their database OR activating the data plans within 24 hours when the contract was signed.

Think the reception prob, maybe every one cld exp it some point :)
Sometimes its either the phone's quirky or wat, it does chng to Malaysian network. I called Starhub and they also waive off for me.

Regards
to the activation os the data plans, u can req for it to be expedite but thru exp it'll still take 24hs. But if they're faST, few hrs can be done le. :)

ya but my experience is that, even 1 month after signing the contract, starhub said that they did not receive the request to change plans. so my gf got charged for a lot of data.

Gosh, in thay case, u shld have called in to dispute ur case, cos u know sometimes big companies have many paperwork, so they might have missed out. So there's a case for u to fight for.
