double bass question

AWESOME video bro!! It helped alot really, thank you so much!

Btw, another question here, when i'm practicing heel down, the shin area (or a little lower) hurts after like a while. Is that normal? Is that because of not enough practice?

man... shin area means the right muscle is being worked out...

just continue to practice.. den you will get better... soon you will feel no pain at all.. the starting always hurt like crap...

its like playing guitar.. at first your fingers hurt but after more prac, it gets better and less painful..

btw.. hey those who watched the video... level three doubles did he switch to heel down? cause it looks like his heel is touching the board

nope.his ankle is floating above the ankle plate...and he is just swivelling his ankle angles to control the footboard. :)

did anyone notice that he said he "can't go fast on these pedals" and the pedals were eliminators?

Woah... 8O

what pedals does he normally use then?!

he uses the axis longboards...and his shoes also plays a part in his pedallin...

for me personally, i feel comfortable pedallin with a running shoes the racer soles typed...i can feel like got the added "bounce" i think...

realise his shoes are pretty big and bulky type yet they dont seem to restrict his movement...

anyway.. i would really prefer playing wif something wif thinner sole

oh yea..! rengaw...!

wassup dude...how's the snare...? i didnt know that it was you la...

yeah..but his shoes are like so big and all..i really think that you should wear a good shoes that are not worn..still got that bouncy jumpy feelin...

haha of course bare foot at home mah. got people wear shoe at home to practice?

btw farid bro. the snare is good. =)

Nice seeing you around here.

i once bought a pair of "studio shoes" just for drumming. the rubber soles were super thin and was meant for indoor wear. soon after, the jam studios i go to require me to take off shoes, so i got lazy and played in my socks.

now i can't feel the pedal when i'm in shoes anymore. :(

What about ahpek kungfu shoes?

I used to practice without shoes too...until I started using the tap/slide technique on newer pedals. The newer pedals all have alot of engraving...I started getting very bad blisters when I first got my Iron Cobras. Now, at home, I would put a pair of shoe next to my kit. I would put them on whenever I practice...also, when you start getting hotel gigs...you can't possibly be wearing a suit and play barefooted right?

haha. AH PEK KUNG FU SHOE!

barefoot or with shoes will cause any differences? like "rebound" or something izzit?

i go barefoot too.

yeah..thats why running shoes are the way to go...

but weird right..? metal metal also use running shoes..even george kollias uses nike basketball shoes...yeah..\m/
