Doom is not new. Think abt sabbath. They came evn b4 metallica. The main sub-genres of Heavy-Metal are death, black, thrash, power, doom, gothic, & ofcourse heavy.

no offence to all here, but i personally cant understand why people like all this die/death/kill/rotten themed music, and with all due respect to musicians, nor do i really appreciate it. I mean, to me lah, this kind of stuff not shiok leh, i find that i am depressed enough, no need more depression! thus i prefer happy music like rock n roll...hehe...AC/DC or Guns n Roses that kind of things..they just eat the drug n be happy.

There is no depression in metal. Doom has just the softer side of heavy metal thtz all. All music is evil, rock or pop.
