Dom Famularo Drum Clinic in Singapore!

props to all of what wayneward said!!
im not a drummer too but he inspired me all the same :))

its great how he's able to inspire and motivate not only drummers but other instrumentalists and musicians as well. it is really seldom that i feel anything from hearing drumsets, and even more "WOW" to see someone in person who has actually played for so long, who has had the same burning passion for 42years (and still going), and who is a great example of the saying that learning transcends the boundaries of age. he made me, at least, feel that music CAN be for life if u're really enthusiastic and passionate about it.

he's a true inspiration :) i hope every musician benefitted from his clinic as much as i did! and hope we'll all keep that passion for music burning many many years down the road! :)

cheers~

Yeah man awesome clinic. Made 20 bucks seems so worth it! Greatest smile on earth! He makes people smile everytime. How awesome is that!?

Anybody saw the "Fuman Moment" when Dom was solo-ing? HAHAHA.

Wonder who was the bass player there yesterday, LOL. Anyone know where I can find pictures of yesterday? Well yeah, abit too fast i know..

My young padawan, be patient you must. I will consult the council to see if we are in agreement that you should come under my tutelage. Use the force, I must.

But of course, there's the power of negotiation. Maybe you can offer me the next empty slot for lessons under you and I might very well skip the whole process and take you under my wing pronto! Heh.

But seriously, nah I left with Mel and Reuben. Like a wise man said during the post-clinic meal, "The life of a working adult..." :)

Haha...k...my next slot is yours!! promise...i'll tell denise...!! I want to learn how to build a light sabre in return...green coloured one please...

All of us will have 'moments' from time to time :) Be patient and passionate and they will come.

Just want my drummer kakis here to share my joy in appearing on TV next Tue 1 July at 10.30pm in Ch 8. The main focus is not on me but on a 11 year old girl prodigy in art painting which I have the privilege of teaching her drums. You may want to check out on her in Sep when she opens her own art painting exhibition with drumming. One day, i hope to get her to paint drum sets for charity in the first ever drum roadshow in Singapore. As what Dom says 'Wave maker'.

Can you see the string??? NO!!! Its invisible!!

haha

dam worth the money.. but i wish he played more tracks though

Alvin: Learn to use the force, you will. Teach you the ways of the Jedi, I will. Very much looking forward to learn under you, I am. ;)

Drum_Hobbyist: Oh! She's the one you told me about over dinner the other time! Nice! Are you gonna be on the telly as well?

Reuben: Totally; I wanted him to play more tracks as well. He's fascinating, ain't he. Drummers like him are a gift to us.

Jeepers... MediaCorp did quite a number of shots on me demonstrating and teaching and her playing and interviewing her why she chose to play drums. Watch the programme for her answer. The whole shooting took 1.5 hrs. Don't know which clips will be shown.

Mel... i can be on tv because of her. i am so humbled that i can be part of her successes in life.

Congrate Bro DH: - Wow.www another Ethan Ong kinda Drummer (from you) this time...good.ddd.

Sheylara, I have consider myself really learning Drumming for only about 2 years, but the 10 months in music lab was truly how I feel I've progress tremendously. So in that manner, it is true.........I only begin to drum well after I took my lessons with Alvin.

You want free-lunch har..really meh? How about an Exotic Supper my dear?. Hahahaha !

a virtuous cycle it is.. sounds good for all involved, fuman ;)

wish i have a tv tuner and can record the programme down..

Eric: Wow, you're really paying Alvin a huge compliment! Hehe! :) Great to hear that you feel you've progressed tremendously! I'm looking forward to seeing you drum on Saturday! ;)

Erm... what is exotic supper har? Sounds scary! o_O

Hey Alfe back from overseas yet ?

By the way, just a little something to share.

Dom's is a technique doctor by now we should've noticed eh. And he has also stressed the importance of the free stroke and moeller technique in all of his clinics (Me and Frummer also overheard a conversation bout him talking to a fellow drummer). I also believe it plays a very big part in his drumming.

This is the page of Dom Famularo's cyber lesson working on grip, free stroke and moeller technique, be sure to leech it as much as you can!

Remember to play and practise like it's your last! ;)

Dom is a great guy! He's tall btw. And yes, his drumming awesome. Very inspiring. Glad to see so many of you there on Monday night. Haven't catch up with you guys lately. Eric, I can't support you on Saturday. I'm sorry. I've got work. Haha. Ask Alvin about my work.

Thanks spinninsticks for the link!

James, will you be uploading the videos you took that day here? :D

Exotic dinner refers to eating snakes and crocodiles? haha

Fuman! Who is the person you taught! I'm lost can someone enlighten me? haha
