Do I need an effects pedal?

I have went down to swee lee today and their Ibanez SM-7 costs $102 after the discount.I have also made a trip to davis and the cool cat costs $36.Guess i have to try those pedals out next time and see which one is worth the money..

I dunno,my fren said tat this year have no year end swee lee sale, dunno if its true or not.The cool cat pedals also look quite promising..i just listened to some of the sound clips on their website.

SM7 i think. IMO the Mike Mod Live Turbo DS-1 is a very very good and versatile pedal, it may be a bit outta ur budget range but its worth every penny. I've recommended it to around 10 ppl and after 2 years, its still on their pedalboards.

Thanks, but i got my zoom g2 already, maybe when i play better next year will consider on a single pedal

The Beta Aivin HM-200 can do punk with no worries. I've been using this pedal for metal, rock, blues, pretty much anything for quite some time now and haven't felt the need to replace it with something else so far. To get a punk tone, I just increase the mids and decrease the distortion a little bit. When tweaked enough, it is a very versatile distortion pedal.

For stuff like A7x, I doubt a Boss DS-1 will have enough distortion.
