distortion pedals

GT-2 is ard $280-$290 range... Kinda exp but worth it IMHO...

Used to own a Jackhammer back in my poly days... Nice overdrive but not really a fan of the distortion mode...

It all boils down to ur budget man..

THERE IS A DIFFERENCE!!!! :D

Why not hear it from the horse's mouth? I emailed the Tech21 people because I'm getting a gt2 myself so... here it is!

Dear Daniel,

Thanks for your inquiry. First, let's talk about the tone...

The products have slightly different “personalities”. The TRI-O.D.
(discontinued) and GT2 are more “scooped and sizzly”, and would be a good choice
for ‘80s metal, ‘90s grunge, and the modern Vai/Satriani “guitar virtuoso” type
tones. The TRI-A.C. has a flatter, vintage midrange “bark”, appropriate for
‘60s and ‘70s blues and classic rock.

Now, as for ease of use...

The GT2 has only one footswitch, so it's obviously an "on" or "off" situation.
The TRI-O.D. and TRI-A.C. both offer three channels, but the TRI-O.D. has only
one footswitch, so you must "step through" from one channel to the next. The
TRI-A.C. has three footswitches, so you have immediate access to any of its
channels (or back to "bypass").

I'll attach the .pdf files of all three manuals in separate emails, so they
don't overload your mailbox and "bounce back".

Regards,
Lloyd Schwartz, Product Manager

Its amazing customer service I tell you... And he took the time to send me the manuals of the tri A.C, tri O.D and GT2, one by one! :D

Having never tried these Tech 21 stuff, can anyone with experience tell me if the sounds are authentic?

It ultimately depends on your amp or PA. But for the money it does the job sweetly. And I guess the email from the Tech21 guys as listed above more than categorize the GT2.

thumbs up for the tech21 staff. once sent them an email about best way to hook up my trademark 60 to my mixer and to some pedals. he sent me an essay with colored diagrams on possible hookup options and took pains to explain to me preamp stage etc...wish i kept that email. good products, good support. wish i could say the same for M-Audio tho....bah..

THE SANS AMP GT2 is available here in s'pore. just go to sinemax.
its the warmest distortion unit u ever find on this earth. nuthing beats its distortion n cool lead sounding.
been using it for 8 years and never failed me.
worth $295 but it worth the shit load.
if i;m not wrong; Luther music also sells em/='.

it's definitely worth the money..and it's tough and rugged so if you're cash-strapped a second hand gt2 is a good idea..roughly from 180-200..

huh?? GT2 so cheap at ESDEN??? wah piangz...some people selling at $240 for 2nd hand ones man...early early dun say...keke..

just get boss. still ultra reliable n its one pedal which doesnt muddy ur sound. ds 1 is a recommendation. second to tt is de pro co rat.
