Distortion pedal

Muddy?

How to be tight yet muddy?

Daniel, IF TIGHT = MUDDY, then my bad

i'm not sure, that's why i'm asking ard ... if i wud have know what i'm looking for ... i wudnt have ask, rite ?

Breed ... songs like the 70s, scorpions, DP, Eagles and the likes perhaps ... and now u have a little tweaking to do with your GT2 too ... isnt it better to ask ard and get some feedback from the experience user ? :D

Hey SpaTans, no la tight not = muddy, that's the whole pt u see =).

ppl usually use tight to describe the closeness/tightness of the sound, how neat it is, almost.

muddy is just the opposite, where it's a whole mesh/wall of sound, with little clarity.

so dan's pt was that it's not v possible for a pedal to give a sound that is tight, yet muddy, cos they're opposites. just like how a car cannot be headed east, yet west.

hope this clarifies!

SpaTanS, chill! Nothing amiss! Its a-okay to ask, and then get questions in return - that's how we clarify things! :D

KennethC got it... Its quite a feat to be tight yet muddy... I can think of the Big Muff which is sort of like that... but nothing else, especially in the realm of distortion pedals...

o i c ... thanks for clearing that KenC ... and i'm chill Daniel ... so scrap that muddy part ...

so, what's your take for a Tight, crunchy, power distortion ???

(no muddy, no muddy, no muddy)

just an update, I went a-jamming last night, and have decided that my best experience with an explosive, chugging, tight distortion so far has been with my blackstone, a ts9(randolf mod), and a marshall AVT150 on clean channel. Of course my view is myopic, as there are so many other amps out there that'll rip too. Hope I get the good fortune to try more out!
