well.. EMGs are actives.
Dimarzios arn't.
that should tell you much.
usually they use EMGs for the hard high gain stuff.
the dimarz. they are more solo orientated but they are
a great all round sounding pickup.
I use EMGs myself.

Thats another thread on emg's. Dimarzio's have some very cool modern and cutting edge pickups.
I use emg's 81/85 in my rg. Fits in well but cleans could be better. I also use alot of chorus with the cleans. Hope it helps! :lol:

kfk is 280.
If you want just a bridge can get a 81. Great stuff man. Kfk has this little gain boost thing too. 20db

hmmm... Iron Madein and Dragonforce, they use passives no?
Slayer uses actives.
You can use passives and get bone crushing distortion. Look at Dimebag.
I have no idea what wood an LTD F-10 uses, lazy to google. But off the cuff, the best dimarzios humbuckers iMO are.
Breed neck / Breed bridge set in basswood.
Air Norton / Double Whammy in mahogany

i gt the same problem too im thinking of getting pups but i gt no idea which one suits me...i own a fender mim deluxe super strat singled coil ..i like heavy metal like metallica, iron maiden etc..Not only tat i played some blues n bit of malmsteen licks..so i wonder wat type of pups ar suitable for playin tis two diff genre ?? im thinkin of only changin the bridge n neck...Any sugestion guys wat model and brands od pup shld i gt??

i had the same problem before i changed my PUPs on my LP.
I like playing the same stuff too. metallica, iron maiden, avengedsevenfold, blacklabel society.
but i also play alot of cleaner stuff and rockandroll.
you should go ahead with EMGs. put a 10band at the end of your pedals.
should do the trick for tonal quality while playing low gain-ish stuff.
