I believe I did the GFS MO with you.

Yes its a really great way to make the Tele neck position useful.

^ if I'm not mistaken, those "modified" pickups from a EBMM JP model are wounded more to John Petrucci's specs but still maintain the characteristics of the pickup.

Haha... It does cater to it. Well, it has this warm tone to it. Sounds much much better to the fender's stocks.

i hear a smooth top end signature from DiMarzios regardless of how vintage/aggressive the manufacturer touted them to be, it's not a bad thing of course... for the vintage stuff, Fender's own single coils are hard to beat.
