difference between VOX AD30VT & VOX AD30-VTXL

the XL is more toward the metal sound. If i remember correctly.

yeap. the XL will do better in higher gain.

but overall the non XL series is the way to go. it has much better reputation than the XL series. dont ask me why. ahhaha

The Xl series is the higher Gain model of the Valvetronix line. It has alot of high gain amp seletion to chose from. The Non-Xl series is more for Clean,rock,pop..etc the lower gain stuff. Xl is for Hardrock , metal etc.. high gain stuff. But there is a clean / classical rock amp selection on the Xl series Glass but thats it.

Yeah the problem with the XL series is it does't really sound good for metal...It kinda screws the reason in getting it. the Xl series is neither here nor there not too good in high gain stuff or low gain stuff... The non XL series sound really good for low gain. IMO if you want to get the XL to sound good get some eminence or celetion speakers but its gonna cost 100plus each..
More or less if you like low gain / clean get a non XL if u like high gain get a Roland cube 30

exactly. but the fact remains that the XL will do better than the non XL.

you are right. for metal tones, the roland cube is the way to go.
