Diff between TS9 and TS7?

Hi all, would like to know what are the main differences TONE AND SOUNDWISE between the TS9 and its brother the TS7. Thanks!

TS7 is like a TS9 only much more versatile...

Me, I pesonally prefer the TS7 but of Cos!

Sometime less is less and sometimes Less is more! :)

TS9 has a chip-enhanced tone unlike the TS7. some hear the difference, others don't.

TS7 has a HOT mode for more drive but it still remains in the mild drive domain.

i certainly enjoy the TS7 more than the other incarnations 8) to me, it's the least expensive but maximum satisfaction.

hmmm i'm surprised are the T-7s that good?

I totally love my Maxon OD9, my desert island pedal on my pedalboard, and to hear the tonelock series being preferred is certainly intriguing to me...

It's good in the sense for the money you're paying, its actually pretty decent. With the additional Hot mode, I would say it would be more functional to more users cos the ts9 alone is quite mild as a standalone. As a boost then it wouldn't matter that much.

But then again, I've tried Hot mode while boosting and its quite over the top. :D

drats...i regret letting go of my green ts7. upgraded to a keeley ts9dx..... havent tested it yet but maybe i should've just stuck to the ts7

Are you comparing your OD9 to a TS9? Because, they (TS9 & OD9) are DIFFERENT.

In fact, your OD9 is supposed to be superior to the TS9, circuit-wise especially.

oh I know that, i feel OD9s sound better then new Ibanez TS9s.

Was just asking why people like the TS7s. Was intriguing to me that it could be preferred then TS9s....

btw
is it just me or does TS7 sounds more fuzz than overdrive (in a solid state amp), i've never tried ts9 or the other modded pedals though.

after trying the TS9 in its various incarnations (& owning them), personally, i feel they can't fulfill my tonal needs, nevermind their inclusion of some legendary celectronic hips. it should be a need assessment after all- why should we join the hype camp if it has nothing in store for us?

Why not join?

After all, most guitarists swear by a TS type circuit into toob amp for their tonal bliss so....

If it works, don't fix it lah...

Right? :P

Just kidding Sub. For every reason to follow a hype or standard, there's every reason to not do so. And mess up. Or maybe be different.

to me the TS9 bandwagon is a rockin' 72' Dodge Challenger

let me clarify.

Pre 90s TS9s and TS808s. total melt.... of course these old pedals are touch and go, no two sounds alike as compared more consistent modern ones.

Maxon OD9s, Analogman TS9 mods.

None of these 'reissue' or modern TS9s...

of course bootek stuff sounds 'better' or 'dirt-ter' or 'dynamic', but sometimes its a standard for a reason...

Like DS1s

Personally I cant use it. Its just nothing with me. Fizz and harsh and all that.
Yet everyone from my neighbour to Satch and Vai uses it. Mod or not.
I can hear the DS1-ness in Satch's tone, yet I adore his sound. But I still CANNOT tahan DS1 in my hands.

To each his own, to each ears, your hands...
