Hi there im curious about Digitech's Distortion Factory. Other den the fact i know it offers quite a range of distortion pedals and amp models, is the effect analog or digital? Beacause im concerned i only use analog stuff since going digital tends to suck tone.

if it's good tone, then it's good tone, digital or otherwise...

btw, the Distortion Factory could have been better in terms of the overall voicings on offer.

lol....y can it be better ovrall? it contains quite a number of amp and distortion modelling....which means its digital la.... lol

i think digital just sounds fake, thats all.its like just sounds pretty digital. even pod xt, probably the best in digital effects, in my opinion, no offence to pod users, even though i know it sounds pretty close to real thing, i still think there is some kind of a "lifeless" quality to it.

This is just my opinion, so dont shoot me pls. And i'll still consider the DF-7. Cos most of the effects models are wad i need. After i go try it out that is.

cheers.

i dunno how u guys r able to hear wat is fake and wats not...ya..i do realise some overdrive or distortion sound rather 'digital' so to say...but i think overall if u close ur eyes and listen without knowing wat brand of effects is tt..den there might nt be so much misconception...jus a thought only..haha

Ized, not out to shoot you or something, just wanted to find out the reasons why you think digital is inferior to analog. Its cool. Just making sure your reasons aren't something extraordinary. :P

Digital usually has problems "moving air" anyways.

On cd and mp3, you can't hear the difference, but if you are the player, you sure feel it. Maybe not hear it but feel will be different.

Then again... if you are playing with gain from hell... I'm not sure what feel is left in the first place.. ;)

'Digital' effects are not affected much by the set up or enviroment.
Its dead as it doesn't respond to your feel ....just to put it in lay man terms.

But knowing this ...recent digital pedals are built having more analog feel ...(i was impressed with the Digitech 'synth Wah') but still has that nasty frequency...

Do an A/B and u will see !! Or read more on analog and digital effects which (yawn) beaten (yawn) to death at other forums.

haha hey guy thanks alot for ur advice....so its definitely digital rite? even though it comes in the form of a single stompbox........
