So let it be written... let it be done... Metallica's 9th studio album is entitled Death Magnetic.

And if you have watched the youtube videos of the supposedly new songs supposedly entitled "Death Is Not The End" and "Vulturus", for Death Magnetic, you'd know it won't be the mid-90's Metallica.

Yeah, got it from UG aswell.
funny name, don't know what's with macho names currently, motorhead's album is gonna be called " motorizer. "

Let's see if Metallica delivers.

i don't know abbout you guys but metallica can definitely do better than "death is not the end' and 'vulturous'. fortunately they arent gonna appear on the new album, at least not in that form.

and from the few preview clips that are available on the mission:metallica site, i think death magnetic is gonna be quite alright. although the name is just.... weird.

AND CONSIDERING WE'VE SEEN SLAYER, MEGADETH, DREAM THEATER(TWICE), I THINK IT'S ABOUT TIME LAMC OR SOMEONE BRINGS IN METALLICA AGAIN. 13/14 YEARS IS A VERY LONG WAIT.

I'm quite eager to hear what this album has to offer. I've always been a Met fan ever since I became a metalhead. 'Death is not the end' sounds rather interesting, but it's not good enough for me to really want to get the album...

vulturus quite cock ah. death is not the end is not bad. aiyah lets just wait for the promo to be up then rate the album.

I found out about it from Wikipedia (yeah... geek-y me!)

omg what are you talking about? wiki pwns all \m/

and yey for Metallica, looking forward to it. shall go check out the alleged songs on utoob. Hmm Death Magnetic, are they incorporating a bit of death metal in pehaps?

i still don't understand why people hate st. anger so much. lol

[emphasis] PERSONALLY, [emphasis] st. anger wasn't half as bad as load & reload. sure, the drums sounded like pots and pans but thats my only issue with the album. i hated it initially but... if u open up ur mind and listen to it in a different perspective, its not that bad.

i respect them as artists trying out new stuff and i don't get why fans want them to keep producing albums like black album etc etc. If they keep producing the same thing, wldn't it be boring?

well, lets support their new album by the virtue that we are fans. we respect them. if you don't, if you're cynical, then that's just too bad.

can't wait... cant's wait... finally after 5yrs lol

I'm just not into them anymore coz they turned thier back on metal and the fans for mainstream success. As they once bluntly put it, they were willing to lose 1 old fan to gain 5 new fans. That sickened me.

looking at your username, I'm sure you're a BIG fan.

for old fans like us... we don't even want the black album! when the black album came out, I was disgusted by it. Anything else after that was pure rubbish. I'm still a big fan of metallica, preBlack album.

its hard to believe anyone in metallica actually said that. in any case, as early as the kill em all/ ride the lightning days, metallica(cliff included) always sought to distance themselves from any form of genre-labelling. so they never turned their back on metal... they may have moved away but not turned their back.

plus, i'd much rather listen to an okay-okay metallica album(load/reload) than one of slayer's mid-90s albums. having said that however, i do agree that st.anger was a pretty bad album. even they've admitted it was somewhat of a mistake and the songs 'could have been shorter and the production better'. but even then, there were some decent songs/riffs, no?

no excuse for putting out bad albums, all the tunes are bad.

Pre 90's Slayer still kickass.

Come on, with song title like Metal Militia and demo name like Metal Up Your Ass you don't consider yourself a metal band? What other genre were they playing at that time? Nothing but thrash metal.

Damn right! Anyone from LAMC here? Please bring Metallica!
