Any reccomendations on these pedals
Especially the coolcat transparent overdrive, drive and distortion pedals..
Looking for paramore tones... Jcm 2000 tone... Not to heavy or thin... Saturated with clarity type of tone

Thanks in advance

You just need to tweak your set up, IMO. The Plextortion handles the JCM tone well enough, so long as you can EQ your amp and pedal.

But if you really need that extra bite, get the transparent OD. Can be used as a further boost though I personally think it's overkill. No harm in trying though :)

More like you just have to be patient and spend time to tweak the amp right first, then tweak the pedal according to that. The plextortion you had before is an excellent pedal that nails what you are aiming for, didn't have to sell it.

The way I go about this is, setting a clean tone that I like from the amp first, then adjust the settings on pedal. Play around with the three band eq, chances are, the eq in this will react differently from the setting of your previous pedal, so don't immediately set it to thaT and expect the same sound. Another tip is also not to put the gain all the way up immediately, turn it up slowly to your desired level of gain.

Sounds like an oxymoron, but that kinds of describes Josh Farro's tone sometimes to me.
Dirty yet clear. Maybe saturation is the wrong word.
Are you unhappy with the tone you got in your videos?
Cause they sound fine to me.

yea...just cant seem to find that perfect tone...

im trying to nail josh farro tone for this video the intro for josh guitar...
that clarity with saturation but not of high gain...
hungry for that tone!

uh, this is considered high gain. You gotta consider the pickups in your axe, that plays an important role as well.

I've tried had the plextortion as well as the danelectro, both can get similar tones to this. Just a matter of how patient you are in tweaking. I think that's the key to this here. Spend time with the pedals and it'll open up more boundaries

Honestly his tone isnt saturated.. The clarity but illusion of higher gain probably comes from cranking the amp and using less preamp distortion + maybe boosting it abit. Something that can never be achieved with your setup or in the bedroom.

What he said. The sad truth. Amp>pedal in most cases. Size wise and tone wise. Unless you're comparing a zvex nano tube amp head with like a maestro echoplex, that one different story. haha

im looking for a les paul if not ill get the tokai and swap it with jazz/jb i think ill get danelectro dist and drive/trans od

I was playing around with my Jekyll and Hide Dist with the Dan.E Drive pedal. I have my main lead tones from the J&H and when i turned on the Dan. E with almost no gain as a clean boost, which then led to the attack of the strings becoming better and clearer tone was that of which I achieved. So maybe you can try what I do?

im considering the blackstar, orange and marshall...
looking for 10-15 watt....

No point getting another small amp with the same kind of specs. aim for a tube amp to get more headroom and saturation. of course, you have to fiddle around with the settings a lot to get the right tone.

1. Get a tube amp.
2. Crank it.
3. Use a clean boost to push the power tube(s) further.
4. Adjust guitar volume to taste.

IMHO, NO pedal can mimick power tube distortion. Close yes, but never exactly.
