Crazy prices on Carousell

Just saw a listing for an Axe FX III for $5000. Davis is doing pre-orders for $3900.

Also saw an Akai Headrush processor being advertised for $2200. Swee Lee sells for about $1300.

Anyone else get "sticker shock"?

It's already a bad market for sellers who slash prices so frequently with no buyers in sight. Technically Davis' Axe price is already inflated. Don't think too much about it, these exorbitant prices won't move items.

I have no problem with sellers listing their items at whatever price they want, that's how I would do it too, and I also run into all kinds of lowballers, time wasters, etc.

But when an item is posted at a higher price than the actual price, I always wonder if it's merely an attempt to hoodwink someone who hasn't done their research.

A case in point is that Headrush I mentioned. Why list it as "brand new" item with a sale price $900 higher than the actual price?

Some great deals too! You have to just be picky.

Another example of crazy prices: guys want over $2k for the Fractal AX8s. Davis is selling them for $1950 brand new!

Agreed. But for the past few years, I’ve been busy helping others fix up theirs gear and etc. So no time to play for myself. Hence not been buying gear for a while. May sell gear instead... Ha ha ha...
